Green Mountain, July 31, [1948] A wedding of interest to many friends and relatives took place at the home of Mr and Mrs Clarence Boone on the afternoon of July 21, when Rev J.B. Messenger of Florenceville, united in holy bondsw of matrimony Lois Maude, daughter of Mr and Mrs Clarence Boone, of Green Mountain and James Alexander, son of Mr and Mrs Kenneth Daniel of St. Stephen.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of white nylon organda and net chiffon over satin with sweetheart neckline, short sleeves and long lace mitts. Her three-quarter length veil of net embroidered with tiny orange blossoms fell from a matching coronet of white and yellow orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of red roses and forget-me-nots tied with white satin reibbon. Her only ornament was a gold locket.
The bride was attended by her sister, Miss Ardis Boone, who wore a floor-length gown of pink celanese taffetta, matching lace mitts and a shoulder length veil caught at the head with a cluster of pink velvet flowers. She carried an arm bouquet of pink roses and sweet peas. The groom was attended by his brother, Kenneth Daniel.
The couble ring ceremony took place on the front lawn where the bridal party stood beneath an arch prettily decorated with maple leaves, dotted with pink and white roses and centered with a white wedding bell.
Nuptial music was played by Mrs Earl Atkinson and during the signing of the register Mr Earl Atkinson and Mrs Charles Atkinson sang O Promise Me and I Love You Truly.
Receiving the guests with the bridal party were the bride's mother who wore a turquiose dress and a corsage of yellow roses and the groom's mother who wore navy summer crepe with white accessories, and a corsage of pale pink roses.
Following the ceremony a buffet lunch was served to many by Mrs Alton Wood, Mrs LeRoy Lawson and friends of the bride. The rooms were tastefully decorated throughout with cut flowers and pink and white streamers fell from a large wedding bell to the four corners of the dining table which was centered with two three-tier wedding cakes each surmounted by a miniature bride and groom. Many attractive and useful gifts were received including silverware, pyrex, linen, money, furniture, etc.
In the evening an old-fashioned charivari was given the young happy couple after which they left for a wedding trip to parts of N.S., and P.E.I. For travelling the bride wore a light blue wool gaberdine suit and black accessories.
The groom's gift to the bride was silverware, while the bride's gift to the bridesmaid and organist were earrings.

BANGOR - Myrtle Georgie Boone Thompson, 82, passed away Dec 2, 2002, at a Bangor nursing facility. She was born Dec 13, 1919, in Eastport, the daughter of Alex and Vonie Boone. Myrtle enjoyed a full life with her family. She loved to cook and have picnics in her yard, treating everyone to fine food and showing off her flower gardens. In addition to family, church and choir involvement, other favorite pastimes were yard sales, shopping and oil painting. Myrtle married her late husband, Harry E. Thompson, in 1937. They lived in the Jonesport/Addison area before moving to Rockland in 1955 and Connecticut in 1963. In 1997, both returned to spend their remaining time in Maine. She is survived by three sons and their wives, David and Shelba Thompson of Addison; Daniel and Janet Thompson of Bangor; Timothy and Mary Thompson of Lebanon, Conn.; one daughter, Patrica LaPila and her husband, Frank, of Killingworth, Conn.; eleven grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Fred L. and James Boone; four sisters, Helen Conley, Elizabeth "Betty" Hugli, Winnie Morrison and Martha Thompson. Myrtle was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Harry E. Thompson; three brothers, Herman A., E. John, Howard D. Boone; three sisters, Theresa I. Ross, Villa B. Newman, Rena L. Dourghty; and one granddaughter, Yvonne Cox. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Dec 13, at the East Dixmont Community Church, with Pastor Timothy Boone officiating. The death of Neil Boone of the Victoria Glen Manor and formerly of Rowena occurred on February 20, 2007 at the Victoria Glen Manor at the age of 95. Born in Plaster Rock he was the son of the late Leo and Emily Boone. He is survived by his wife Hazel Boone of the Victoria Glen Manor; four sons Richard (Peggy) Boone, Robert (Joyce) Boone and Donald Boone all of Perth-Andover and Archie (Jackie) Boone of Kilburn; two daughters Arlene (Alton) Walker of Tinker and Carolyn (Hazen) McNally of Currie Rd.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother Jimmy Boone. Predeceased by his parents, son Raymond, brothers Marshall and Hubert and sister Clara. Resting at the Wesleyan Church, Perth-Andover with visiting hours on Thursday February 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday February 23rd at 2 pm from the Wesleyan Church with Rev. Ryan Farrell officiating. Interment in the Rowena Cemetery. BOONE, RAYMOND - The death of Raymond Boone of Red Rapids occurred on April 8, 2006 at his residence at the age of 74. Born in Rowena, he was the son of Neil and Hazel Boone. He is survived by four daughters Peggy (Ron) Dube, June Boone, Laurie Ann Boone, and Gaynor (Calvin) Davenport; two sons Leonard (Elizabeth) Boone and Tommy Boone; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; parents Neil and Hazel Boone; two sisters Arlene (Alton) Walker and Carolyn (Hazen) McNally; four brothers Donald Boone, Robert (Joyce) Boone, Archie (Jackie) Boone and Richard (Peggy) Boone; several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held on Monday April 10th at 11 am from the Rowena Cemetery with Rev. H.M. Lewis officiating. Raymond L. Boone of Harvey Station went to be with his Lord on January 27, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Dorn Ridge, NB on September 16, 1927, he was a son of the late Byron and Mabel (Haines) Boone. Ray was an active Deacon at Harvey Baptist Church. Along with his wife, Ray served his Lord in Prison Ministry for the Shantymen's Christian Association for fifteen years. He was widely known for his talent and craftsmanship in building beverage can airplanes. Ray loved life and people. Ray is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Alice (Packham) Boone; two daughters, Pat Dewar (Paul), Prescott, ON and Kathleen Lister (Ross Barnet), Fredericton; three sons, Bill (Teri), Stirling, ON, Byron (Cathy), Brockville, ON and Harold (Rowena), Fredericton; three sisters, Doreen Gould (Bill), Hanwell, Lila Wilson (Lloyd), Summerside, PE and Mary Carr (Milton), Nevada, USA; two brothers, Harold (Shirley), Comox, BC and Elwood (Joan), Dartmouth, NS; nine grandchildren, Melody Barr (Robert), Andrew Boone (Sara), Allison Boone, Andrea Lister, Jamie Boone, Timothy Boone, Natalie Lister, Joanna Boone and Michael Boone; one great granddaughter, Samantha Barr; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
