The passing of Evelyn "Joyce" Spinney of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Joseph Spinney occurred on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 31, 1927 in Debec, NB, she was the daughter of the late Ewen and Hazel (Sibley) Dickinson. Joyce was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and housewife and will be lovingly remembered as “Grammy Joyce” to all children in the neighborhood as well as “Mommy Joyce.�

Joyce is survived by her daughter, Patricia Lyons (Baxter); sons, Bryan Spinney (Susan) and Jeffrey Spinney (Karen); grandchildren, Christopher (Laurie) and Michael (Courtney) Spinney and Kasey Lyons; great grandchildren, Riley Spinney and Austin Kitchen; several step grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Geldart (Floyd); brother, Arthur Dickinson; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Joyce was predeceased by her son, Russell Spinney; brothers, Ewen , Harold, Ronald and Arnold Dickinson.

Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Funeral Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11am with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will take place in McKenzie Corner United Cemetery. Miss Muriel C. Dickinson and W. Warden Boone Married In East Hodgdon

East Hodgdon, Me., Nov 24, [1943] On Thursday, Nov. 18th, Miss Muriel Cecile Dickinson became the bride of W. Warden Boone, Fredericton, N.B., at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs Leslie P. Dickinson, East Hodgdon, Me., in the presence of forty guests. The double ring service was read by REv. David Jones, pastor of the Congregational Church, Houlton.

The bride's gown was of air force blue crepe, street length, with self-embroidery, and she carried an arm bouquet of American Beauth rosebuds. The matron of honor, Miss Evelyn Burke, of Lower Dumfries, wore dusty rose crepe, with black velvet trim, and carried an arm bouquet of mixed mums. The groom was suppordted by Lester Collier, North Lake. Mrs Guy L. Turney played I Love You Truly and Mendelssohn's Wedding March.

A reception was held at 8 o'clock for one hundred guests. Mrs Charles turbill received the guests at the door. Miss Arlene London had charge of the guest book. Mrs Nellie Jewett, aunt of the bride, had charge of the gifts. Mrs Jasper Crane poured. Mrs Miles O. Smith, Mrs J. Blaine Lincoln, Mrs Ralph Sloat and Mrs Donald Duff, assisted by the Misses Vida and Shirely Smith, Jean Eagers, Babe McAttee, Mrs Cerald hawkes, Mrs Perley Billings and Mrs Weldon Smith served refreshments.

The bride's cake of three white tiers topped by tiny bride and groom was cut by the bride and later cut and served to the guests by the bride's auth, Mrs George Carpenter.

The bride is the only daughter of Mr and Mrs Leslie Dickinson of East Hodgdon. The groom is the son of Mr and Mrs Arlington Boone of North Lake, N.B. They will reside in Fredericton where the groom has employment.

HOULTON - Muriel C. Boone, 84, died Feb. 11, 2005, at a local healthcare facility. She was born Aug. 8, 1920, at Union Corner, New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of Leslie P. and Florence I. (Grant) Dickinson. Muriel was a lifelong member of the East Hodgdon Union Church, a charter member of the Ladies Aide of East Hodgdon, and a member of the Town + Country Senior Citizens. She enjoyed teaching, quilting, and knitting. She is survived by her husband, W. Warden Boone, of Houlton; her children, Barbara Heinselman and her husband, Russ, of Brookline, N.H., Evelyn Jack and her husband, Bill, of Rolling Meadows, Ill., David Boone and his wife, Jean, of Phillipsburg, N.J., Lois Hartse and her husband, Karl, of Sheridan, Wyo., Helen Cooper and her husband, Dave, of McHenry, Ill., Marjorie Parks and her husband, Tim, of New Gloucester; her grandchildren, Kerry Savinsky and her husband, Dave, Stephanie Jones and her husband, Chris, Lauri Ashford and her husband, Josh, Craig Heinselman and his wife, Angel, Andy Jack and his wife, Cathy, Daniel Jack and his wife, Mary, Brain Jack, Erik Hartse, Lavia and Steven Dooper, Mandy and Vicky Parks; her great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Christopher Jones, Cheyenne and Cole Heinselman, Ian Jack; a special aunt, Eva Moran of Connecticut; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Monday at the Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Scott Taylor officiating. The passing of Aubrey Wilson Dorcas of Fredericton, NB, husband of Brenda (Hunter) Dorcas occurred on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 21, 1938 in Williamsburg, NB, he was the son of the late Edgar and Hilda (Merrill) Dorcas. Aubrey worked for the Fredericton Police Force from 1964-1978 and then moved on to become Police Chief in Blackville, NB. In addition to his work in the police force, he provided security at St.Anne Nackawic Pulp Mill. He was a certified scaffolderm, who worked on projects including the Princess Margaret Bridge renovations. Aubrey was also a member of the Royal Canadian Navy from 1956-1964.

In addition to his wife, Aubrey is survived by his daughters, Heather Dorcas-Reed (Mike King) of Fredericton, NB, Brenda Dorcas of Saint John, NB, Cindy Love (Peter Shea) of Fredericton, NB, Courtney Hemphill (Matthew) of Grand Falls, NB and Joyce Gerrard (Kenneth) of Cold Lake, AB; son, Wade Dorcas of Fredericton, NB; stepchildren, Jaime Burtt (Angie), Shelley Christie (Brian), Jennifer Jamieson (George) all of Fredericton, NB and Jeffrey Hunter of Halifax, NS; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marleen Dorcas of Fredericton, NB; brother, Sterling Dorcas (Bernice) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews.
