Unexpectedly, on June the 4th, at Riverview Manor, in Bath, NB, Paul Finley Gardiner, of Woodstock, passed away. He was a loving husband to Glenna for nearly 70 years, and a son of Elva (Miller) and Finley Gardiner. Paul was born in McAdam, NB on October 5, 1920. He was a member of the Woodstock Baptist Church, life member of the Masonic Lodge McAdam, and also a Past Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star. Paul was a veteran of World War II during which time he was a Prisoner of War in Germany. Paul served at both McAdam and Fosterville as a Canada Customs Office from 1948-1984.He is survived by his wife Glenna (McKiel) Gardiner; sons Richard (Judy) of Fredericton Junction, NB; Michael (Betty) of New Maryland, NB; and daughter, Janice (Douglas) Wilson, of Bedell, NB; grandchildren, Jason (Teena), Jamie (Malika), Stephanie (Joe), Jayne, Catherine (Dwayne), Robert (Emily), Scott (Robyn) and Matthew (Jaime Lynn); five great-grandchildren; sisters, Nanette Stannix of Moncton, NB, Joan Courtney, of Arizona, and Josephine McCulley, of Winnipeg, MB, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides his parents, Paul was predeceased by two brothers, Alex and Peter; and sisters Catherine Furrow, Fern Lehman, Evelyn Roberts and Florence Gardiner. Eel River Lake, Aug 18, [1938]-William Gaskin, age 72, passed away early Monday morning. He had been filing in health for some time but death came very unexpectedly. Prayers were said at the house by Mr McCrae and the funeral was held at the Baptist Church at Fosterville on Wednesday. The service was under the auspices of the LOL and four LOL brothers were pall-bearers as follows: Emery Graham, Henry Farrell, Arthur Wetmore, and Emery Farrell. Hymns sung were Rock of Ages, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere and Sweetly Resting. He is survived by his widow, four daughters, Mrs Alfred Daggett, Charleston, Mass., Mrs John Hand, Ludlow, Me., Mrs John Young, Houlton, Me., and Mrs Henry Spinney, of this place. Also five sons, Fred of Hartford, Conn., Archie of Charleston, Mass., Richard, John and Uherto at home. There is a daughter, Mrs Edna Tidd, Hodgdon, Me., and a son, Edward in Hartford, Conn., surviving him by a former marriage. Also, one sister Mrs A Gillispie, Canterbury, NB., and a half-brother, Alfred Vantassel of Hartford, Conn.,and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Our beautiful mother, Jean Isabelle (Gillespie, Buckingham) Boyne peacefully entered heaven on December 17th, 2023. Born in Canterbury, New Brunswick on March 9, 1927, she was the only daughter of James Clinton Gillespie and Stella Mae (Boone) Gillespie.Mum will be forever missed by her 5 children, Cheryl Grant (Marven) of Fredericton, Leanne Page (the late David Page) of Saint John, Dustin Buckingham (Theresa) of Canterbury, Kerby Buckingham (Shannon) of Saskatoon, Sask. and Kendra Sparks (Scott) of New Maryland, as well as her 15 Grandchildren, Scott Tompkins, Tanya Salter, Twyla Jensen, Krista Grant, Kara Grant, Robin Grant, Chastity Crouse, Corey Taylor, Jennifer Buckingham, Adam Buckingham, Aaron Buckingham, Tenneal Allen, Meaghan Donovan, Caleigh Farrell and Brandon Sparks; 32 Great grandchildren, and 10 Great-great grandchildren.

Mum was predeceased by her late husband Frederick Boyne.Mum is survived by her sister-in-law Freda Bolden (late Roscoe Buckingham) along with many nieces and nephews.We will miss our Mum dearly. Mum was an unapologetic optimist, lighthearted, always helping, always inspiring, ever strong. In all her quiet graceful ways she was truly beautiful, our matriarch. WHIPPANY, N.J. - Hallie Graham, 76, died Dec. 12, 2006, at Morristown Memorial Hospital, New Jersey. Hallie was born in Forest Station. Mrs. Graham lived in Forest City, New Brunswick, before moving to Lincoln Park N.J., for 35 years. Hallie retired to Orient for 25 years. She most recently moved to Whippany, N.J., in order to be closer to her family. Previously deceased were her husband, Frederick J.; and son, Frederick. She was the mother of Dana Graham and his wife, Zoraida, of Milton, N.J., and Alisa Graham of Whippany, N.J.; grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of seven; and sister of Halcott Gilman of New York State, Daisy Deering, Marlene Potter, and Elvona Tavares, all of Aroostook County.

Velma M. Walker of Woodstock, NB passed away July 28, 2013 at Carleton Manor, Woodstock, NB. Born in 1920 at Jacksontown, NB, she was a daughter of the late Jasper and Gertrude (Lifford) Good. At York Care Centre, Fredericton on Thursday, October 18, 2012, Helen Isabelle Boone, 93, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Upper Gagetown, NB on May 7, 1919 , a daughter of the late Grant Lonzo Gordon and Pearl Liza (Howland) Gordon. Helen was a homemaker all her life. She was a devout Jehovah's Witness and loved to read her bible daily. The last surviving member of her immediate family, Helen is survived by her three daughters, Donna Carr (Ivan) of Rusagonis, Joyce Parent of Minto and Shirley Gahan of Fredericton; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by her parents; husband, Winslow E. Boone; a sister, Beatrice Gordon; brothers, Clarence, Hazen and Theodore Gordon; a grandson, Curtis Parent; sons-in-law, Philip Parent and Tom Gahan.

Charlene also enjoyed volunteering at both Hospice locations in Fredericton and North Fort Myers Florida where her and her late husband Fred spend many winters as snowbirds. Charlene also enjoyed tending her flower garden at home and at her cottage at Maquapit Lake, as well as photography, cake decorating and, for a short period of time ran her own wedding decoration business. She was not one to have idle hands. She treasured her many friendships throughout the years and was very sociable.The Funeral Service will be held in York Funeral Home's T. The death of Charles Gould occurred at his home, (Feb. 20th), Fosterville, following a brief illness. He was 44. (Coronary Thrombosis - blot clot.) Born at Fosterville, he was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Grottis Gould. For many years he operated a trucking business and recently been employed by the Eastern Pulpwood Company.
Surviving are his wife, Ella M. Buckingham, one daughter, Mrs. Fred Boone, Jr., Nashwaaksis, one son, Blaine, at home, his parents, one brother, Lyndon, Fosterville, one grandchild and three nieces.
The funeral was held with prayers from the home of his parents followed by a service at the United Baptist Church, Fosterville. Rev. Thomas Crowther of Canterbury officiated assisted by Lic. Victor Parker of Forest City.
"The Lord is My Shepherd" was beautifully rendered by Mr. John Smith, Mr. George Clowes and Mr. Conrad Cummings of Canterbury with Mrs. Guy Grant as accompanist.
Pallbearers were Thomas Collier, John Gaskin, Roscoe Buckingham and Gerald Veysey. The floral tributes were beautiful and showed the esteem in which Mr. Gould was held. The church was filled as people came from Fredericton, Saint John, St. Stephen, Woodstock, Houlton, and Bangor, Maine, to pay their respects.
Interment in the lower cemetery, Fosterville.

ELIOT, Maine - Charles U. Gould, 83, of Eliot, died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2009, at the Hyder Family Hospice House in Dover, N.H.
Mr. Gould was born Jan. 28, 1926, in Woodstock, NB., Canada, to Edward and Annie (Upton) Gould. He and his family moved to Portsmouth, N.H. in 1962. He was an active member of the Kittery Point Baptist Church for over 40 years. He retired from Goodwin Oil Co. in Portsmouth in 1991.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Phyllis Currie Gould of Eliot; daughter Terri Gould and son-in-law David Kennedy of South Berwick; daughter-in-law Lisette Gould Nash of Eliot; four grandchildren, Craig Gould of Alexandria, Minn., Candace Gould Faucher of North Reading, Mass., Kristin Kennedy Foster of Farmington, N.H., and Brandon Kennedy of Chelmsford, Mass.; five great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his son, Robert, who died in 1994; a brother, Archie of Kittery; and a sister, Marjorie Gould Jones of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
SERVICES: A service for Charles will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the J.S. Pelkey Funeral Home, 125 Old Post Road, Kittery, with the Rev. Steve Aldrich of the Church at Spruce Creek officiating. Florence A. Farrell of Harvey, NB passed away March 12, 2011 at Wauklehegan Manor, McAdam, NB. Born in 1930 at Canterbury, NB, she was a daughter of the late James and Luetta (Price) Gould. While her career began as a teacher, Florence will be remembered by many for the passion and enthusiasm she brought to her position while working for many years as Activities Coordinator at the Wauklehegen Manor in McAdam. She later offered unending hours of volunteer service at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and Kings Landing Historical Settlement. Florence is survived by her husband, Horace S. Farrell; a daughter, Dale Grant (Murray), Perth Andover, NB; Garnett Farrell (Janet), Ancaster, ON; Perry Farrell (Cathy), McAdam, NB and three granddaughters, Jessica Grant, Laura Leslie/Farrell (James) and Cassidy Farrell; a sister, Estelle Dunphy/Fox (Murray), Nanaimo British Columbia; a brother, Darrell Gould, (Nina), Fredericton; a sister-in-law, Althea (Bunny) Vye, Newcastle, NB; a brother-in-law, Charles Dow, Woodstock, NB; several nieces and nephews. Married 50 years, Observed Event Mr and Mrs George Gould, Forest City, Honored by Friends Forest City, NB., Sept 20, [1939] - Mr and mrs George Gould celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary on Friday, September 15th, at their home here. Two of their daughters, Mrs Harry Ricker, of Saint John, and Mrs Herbert Lydic of Woodland, Me., and other relatives and friends numbering about 50 in all, were present in the afternoon to extend their greetings to the bride and groom of fifty years ago, and to wish them many more years of life together.
The rooms were decorated with beautiful bouquets of flowers. Another attraction was the beautiful two-tier white and gold wedding cake, topped with a miniature bride and groom, which centered the dining table. A dainty lunch was served to the guests. This was followed by a short programme, closing with a speech by the pastor, Rev A Stott, who also presented Mr and Mrs Gould with an envelope containing a $10 bill, a gift from the Ladies Aid and other friends. Besides this there was a number of other nice gifts, including a beautiful blanket, presented by the Maine and New Brunswick Sunday School Associatrion, of which Mr and Mrs Gould have been members for many years. Mrs Gould is the sixth member of her family (McKenney) to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, four sisters and one brother having had their "golden wedding day."

The people of this place were shocked to hear of the death of Leonard Gould which took place in Houlton where two operations were performed for Bright's disease on March 17. (Kidney disease) He was about 72 years of age and is survived by a wife who was formerly Mrs. Matilda Murchie; eight sons, George, William, Charles, Hanford, Edward, Clarence, Fred and Eldon; and one daughter, Mrs. Clarence Graham (Addie), besides several grandchildren and numerous friends. In religion he was a Baptist; in politics he was a Liberal. He was a good neighbor, affectionate husband, and his home was the halfway place for travelers from Canterbury Station to Forest City. The remains were buried at Foster's Corner.
Mr. Gould was a resident of North Lake, York Co., NB.

The death of Lyndon Herchel Gould occurred at the Upper River Valley Hospital on October 30, 2010. He was born in Fosterville, NB on April 27, 1933 to the late Gerhardus and Elizabeth (Kinney) Gould.
Lyndon is survived by; his wife Lois (Graham) of Fosterville; his children Darlene (Ralph) Boyd of Woodstock, NB; Kimberley (Hans) Stevens of Edmonton, AB; Shelley (Don) Shea of Woodstock, NB; and Charles (Karen) Gould, of Canterbury, NB; grandchildren, Brendan and Jared Shea, Kathryn and Matthew Boyd, Grayson Gould and Chrissie and Caelan Farrell, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, daughter Bethany Dawn and only brother Charles Gould.
A visitation will be held from the Fosterville United Baptist Church, on Monday November 1, 2010 from 6:00 - 9:00 pm. A funeral service will be from the Fosterville United Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Eldon Caldwell officiating. Pallbearers will be Richard Graham, Lenny Grant, Ed Betts, Linwood Lawrence, Tom Collier and Bev Boone. Honourary Pallbearer will be Lorne Home. Interment in the Lower Fosterville Cemetery will follow.
The family would like to thank all of those who provided great care and support for Lyndon over the past years.
Suggested memorial donations to the Fosterville United Baptist Church or Souls Harbour would be appreciated by the family. Reception to follow interment at the Fosterville Community Center.

Jun 10 Will was taken violently ill. Had Dr. O'Donnell from Debec. Pleural Pneumonia and a bad heart.
Jun 11 We had some callers. 4 men came down from Mountain to see Will. Will and I were alone in afternoon. They had S S.
Jun 12 Very hot day. I fanned Will much of the time.
Had a call from Mr. Ramsey. Had the Dr. come in evening. He thought Will was better.
Jun 13 Geo & Josie stayed all night. Will thought he would not live until morning and deeded over his estate to me.
Jun 14 Will seemed no better. Bea stayed all night.
Jun 15 Laurel took Bea down town and they brought Villa home to help with work and Alice Boone stayed all night, but I took care of Will all week myself.
Jun 16 Will is no better. The medicine seems to work all right but he don't seem to feel any better.
Jun 17 Will seemed worse and we had Dr. O'Donnell in the forenoon. He injected morphine and we watched all the afternoon thinking he would not live through the day, and in the evening my sister came from Haynesville to stay with me.
Jun 18 Hanford, Fred and Archie & wife came today.
Archie & wife went down with Bea to dinner. Hanford went over to Everett Graham's and Fred stayed with us. When they came back here they moved a bed down stairs for Will and I lay on the lounge and took care of him that night Jun 19 When I woke to attend Will in morning he was covered with a cold sweat. I thought it a bad sign and in the afternoon he began to hiccough.
We did everything we could to stop them and they would stop for a little while and begin again. Josie & Guy Leeman stayed up with him that night and I went to bed.
Jun 20 The hiccoughs continued throughout the day only stop for a short time when I would give him a drink of something. Ellis Graham stayed alone that night. I got up early in the morning and he went home.
Jun 21 The hiccoughs continued. Evie & I cared for him through the day and Guy and Everett stayed with him that night.
Jun 22 The same old story: hiccoughing all through the day. Stopped for a time when I would give him a drink of something. That evening Herb Smith came and Hanford was here and John & Bea sat up with him through the night.
Jun 23 He seems no better, but the hiccoughs seem not so bad. I have Dr Curtis come to see him. He does not say much but sends him some medicine for his heart. Herb & Laurel stay up all night Jun 24 Hanford, Grace, Pearl Boone, Jean Malone came over and brought the medicine Dr. Curtis sent to Will.
The hiccoughs stopped but in the afternoon his cough began again and it was awful. That night Fred Wood and Arlie Boone sat up with him and took care of him.
Jun 25 Charlie & Jeanette drove up from Newport to see him but he did not care to see any one but he knew them. There were crowds here to see him but we only let a few in to see him. Herb & Guy took care of him that night.
Jun 26 Eldon came. Will seemed stronger but does not seem to feel any better but has a bad cough. Herb and Eldon took turns caring for him through the night.
Jun 27 Herb went to town and talked with Dr. Curtis.
He went home in afternoon. That night Hanford came.
Geo & Josie sat up all night and cared for him.
Jun 28 Eldon & Ellis Graham took turns caring for him through the night. He is very sick and coughs a lot.
Jun 29 Still very sick but does not seem so restless.
John & Bea cared for him through the night.
Jun 30 More quiet through the day and coughs a lot but knew his niece Clara Howe when she came to see him. No one came to care for him and I took care of him myself and Laurel slept on the kitchen lounge.
Jul 11 It is useless to describe his coughing and struggling for breath through the forenoon; but it all stopped at 1:30 P.M. and he was at rest and I was left desolate Geo Gould and John Higgs cared for him and dressed him and they took out the bed and cleared out the room and he lies there waiting for the casket.

DANFORTH - Bertha J. Carr, 101, wife of the late Perley Carr, died Sept. 28, 2012, at a Houlton hospital. She was born Oct. 2, 1910, in Danforth, the daughter of Fred A. and Jane (Allen) Graham.Bertha was a wonderful mother to her family. She was the oldest citizen of Danforth, holding the Boston Gold Cane for seven years.She is survived by a son, Allan Carr and his wife, Helen, of Connecticut; three daughters, Pearl Beaulieu of Millinocket, Nadine "Tiney" Carr of Danforth and Susan Darveau and her husband, Raymond, of East Millinocket; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, great-great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Perley Carr, she was predeceased by six children, Burns, Ted, Melita, Natalie, Judy and Terry; three brothers and one sister.Graveside services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Danforth Hilltop Cemetery with the Rev. Carmeletia Shirley (Graham) Pitts of Middleboro died peacefully on April 26, 2019 following a period of declining health. She was 82.She was born on June 3, 1936 in Fosterville, New Brunswick, Canada, daughter of the late Raymond H. and Arlene E. (Curtis) Graham. Her early education began in a one-room schoolhouse. Later in high school, she excelled athletically and was a valued member of the girl's basketball team. Mrs. Pitts received her nursing education in Maine before moving to Massachusetts. She was the owner and operator of the former Terri Lorraine Nursing Home in Weymouth. She loved animals, charity work and devoted countless hours and resources to women and children in need.Devoted mother of Terri Lorraine Lewis and her husband, Gary F. Lewis. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey S. Lewis and his wife, Lauren, Keith A. Lewis and his girlfriend, Ashley. Also survived by her dog, Jolene. Mrs. Pitts is the former wife of Kenneth E. Pitts.Calling hours are Saturday (May 11, 2019) beginning at 10 AM in the Faith Chapel, Assembly of God, 340 Pleasant Street (Route 104) Bridgewater. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM. It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Connie (Graham) Khoury of Fredericton, NB on Sunday, June 9, 2019 at Hospice Fredericton. Born in Forest City, NB she was the daughter of the late Merrill and Lydia (Fish) Graham and wife of the late Joseph Khoury.Connie worked as a clerk at the Department of Heath for 37 years until her retirement. Once she retired her time was spent caring for her husband and when he passed away she became the main care giver for her mother. She was always the type of person to take care of others, often times before taking care of herself and many people felt her house was a "safe haven" of sorts. She opened her home to everyone and was always willing to "lend an ear." She loved the company of her fur babies and enjoyed an occasional game of Mario.She is survived by her sons, Joseph Khoury (Ginny) and Charlie Khoury (Sarah); daughters, Angela Spear (Steve) and Judith Fallon; sister, Aileen Clark (Arthur); step-brother, Andrew Fish (Lois); sister-in-law, Winnie Graham; grandchildren, Riley Spear, Aidan Khoury (Kailie), Julia Khoury (Grant), Graham Khoury, Danica Hachey (Isaac) and Tyler Fallon; great-grandchildren, Noah, Gavin and Henry as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law.In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Charles Graham; step daughter, Carman Williams; son-in-law, Timothy Fallon; grandson, Jon Fallon and sisters-in-law, Mary Khoury and Sally Delmas.We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to Dr. B . The death occurred Sunday, December 5, of Mrs Elissa P. Graham, 52, at her late residence. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Lottie MacArthur Graham of Canterbury, NB.
A graduate of teh Aroostook General Hospital School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse, and worked at her profession for a number of years in Houlton, Maine. She was a member of the United Baptist Church in Houlton. She has resided in Kirkland, NB. since her marriage to Fred Graham in 1928.
She is survived by her husband, one son, Arden of Juniper; three daughers, June Graham, of Houlton, Maine; Mrs Neal Dow (Gail) of Canterbury; Shirley Graham, a student at Mount Allison University; two brothers, Eben and William Graham of Debec; four sisters, Mrs Katie Gray of Hartland; Mrs Alice Kerr of Deb ec; Mrs Alma MacPherson of Windsor, N.S.; and Mrs Helen James of Port Credit, Ont., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Wednesday p.m. at the United Church of Canada at Mckenzie Corner, NB., Rev A.D.C. Earle pastor of the church officiating, assisted by Rev F.C. Burrill of Canterbury and Rev. J.D. McDonald of Jacksonville. By request of the deceased, Frank Shields sang "Going Down The Valley One by One" Pallbearers were Eben and William Graham, Robert MacPherson, and Hazen Kerr. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Obituary Mrs J.G. McArthur Canterbury, NB., Sept 20, [1947] Many friends throughout new Brunswick and Maine will learn with regret of the death of Mrs Ellen Elizabeth McArthur, wife of John G. McArthur, which occurred at her late home, Eel Lake, NB., on September 24th, after an illness of two and a half months. She was born at Kirkland, NB., daughter of the late James and Elizabeth Graham on January 1st, 1871. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Russell Price, London, Ontario, and four sons, Donald of Sarnia, Ontario, William and Lester, Woodstock, NB., and Sandy of Eel Lake; 27 grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one brother, Alexander Graham, Debec, NB. The funeral was held from her late home to the Baptist Church where service was conducted by Rev. H.L. Robertson, of Woodstock. Interment was in the Skiff Lake cemetery. Pallbearers wre Charles Hawkes, Floyd Smith, Joseph Foster and Eben Varney.

Elwood Graham, 90, passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018, at a Houlton long term care facility. He was born April 15, 1928, in Houlton, the son of William and Verda (Varney) Graham.
Elwood grew up in Houlton. He married Geraldine Hersey and together they would raise three sons. Elwood was employed by Houlton SAD 29 as a custodian for many years. He enjoyed fishing horses and loved hunting, as well as spending time with the family at Conroy Lake in Monticello. Elwood was a longtime member of the Odd Fellows of Houlton.
He is survived by two sons, Gary Graham and his wife, Marie Mallet of Dixmont, Roger Graham and his wife, Salli of Houlton; a daughter-in-law, Susan Graham of Houlton; five grandchildren, Ian, Heather, Dustin, Sarah, Jessica; a daughter-in-law, Cathy Graham of Hollis; a sister, Frances Jay of Milo; and a special friend, Joyce Blake of Houlton. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Geraldine Graham; a son, William Graham; a granddaughter, Kendra Graham; and a brother-in-law, Robert Jay.
Friends may call 12 PM Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Dunn Funeral Home, where a service will be conducted at 1 PM with the Rev. Kevin Hatch officiating. E. Graham Dead Well Known Resident of Pemberton Ridge Dead at Age of 58 Pemberton Ridge, NB., Jan 4, [1940] This community was saddened to learn of the death of Everett Graham at his home here on Monday evening January 1st. He was 58 years of age and had been in failing health for some time, having spent a year and nine months in hospital at Saint John, returning to his home in June of last year. He had a great many friends who will learn of his passing with regret. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Gordon at home, Ralph of Meductic, NB.; two daughters, Mrs Horace Bartlett, of Houlton, Me., Mrs Richard Crowther of Durham Bridge, NB., and three grandchildren. Also, by his father, John Graham who is past 80 years of age and has made his home with the family for many years.
The funeral was held at the home on Wednesday afternoon, conducted by the pastor, Rev A. A. Stott who spoke from the words, I am the Resurrection and the Life. He also sang two hymns, "Sometime We'll Understand" and the "City of Gold'. The pall bearers were Melzie Graham, Fred Graham, Clinton Gillispie and Basil Boone. Interment was made in the cemetery. Known as: Jimmy ORIENT - Frederick "Jimmy" Graham, 72, died Sept. 30, 2001, at a Morristown, N.J. hospital. He was born and raised in Fosterville, New Brunswick, and lived in Maine for many years before moving to New Jersey. Mr. Graham worked as a plant supervisor for Morris Paper Board in Paterson for more than 30 years before retiring in 1984, when he moved back to Orient. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and during his younger years was a fishing guide in Maine. He is remembered by his family and friends as "one of the kindest men you would ever want to meet." He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Hallie; three children, Frederick of Wayne, N.J., Dana and his wife, Zaraida of Jefferson, N.J., and Alisa Keating and her husband, Martin of Whippany, N.J.; three sisters, Lois Gould of New Brunswick, Gladys Collier and her husband, Thomas, also of New Brunswick, and Donna Smith and her husband, Louis of Illinois; a brother, Stanley and his wife, Ruth of Connecticut; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 1-3 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the Bartlett Funeral Home in Danforth. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Peter Grenier officiating. It is with heavy hearts that the family of Glendon Clarence Graham, 85,(August 31, 1938 - April 14, 2024), of Fosterville, New Brunswick, share the news of his passing. Glen passed away surrounded by his family, who he considered to be his prized achievement over the course of a life spent in service of family, community, and province.Glen was born in Woodstock, New Brunswick. Glen was the sixth of eleven children, and despite being one of the youngest at the time, assumed the role of caretaker and provider from an early age. Glen often shared stories with his children and grandchildren of spending days in the woods, working logging teams of men many years his senior, with his family's horses, and bringing home deer, partridge, and other game to feed his growing family. He also loved to share stories of Guiding hunters from the United States or other parts of New Brunswick or Canada, again, all for the purpose of supporting his family. Glen never shared these stories from a place of grandeur or bragging; rather, it was important for him that his children and grandchildren understood the value of community, family, and hard work.Glen married his loving wife, Sylvia (Boone) on July 12, 1958. Together, they raised two highly accomplished daughters, Dr. Debra Graham (David Wallik), and Dr. Joy Graham (Jim MacLaughlin). Glen would tell you, although he was immensely proud of his daughters, that he was made to be a grandfather. His grandchildren, Dr. Kara Wallik (Richard), Ryan Wallik (Kate), Shea MacLaughlin (Chase), and Garrett MacLaughlin, were his whole world. While his grandchildren were growing up, he never missed an event, from a Christmas Concert, to a tennis match, to a hockey game, or a play. Nothing his grandchildren did was too small to merit his attention (and subsequent praise).Glen's commitment to his community guided him into a career in government. Although he was trained as an accountant, Glen spent the vast majority of his career as a Civil Servant. He enjoyed a storied career in service of his province, with his roles ranging from the Deputy Minster of Supplies and Services (as it was then known) to the Comptroller of the province. Following his retirement in 1988, Glen found that he was not done being of service to his province quite yet. In his retirement, he and Sylvia made the decision to return to their hometown of Fosterville and build the home of their dreams on East Grand Lake. When he wasn't with his grandkids, he spent his time volunteering with the North Lake Fire Department and working with the North Lake LSD (as it was then known) to ensure the community had access to the services and care that he knew they deserved.Glen's impact of his friends, family, and community exceeds what we can capture in so few words. To know him was to understand and respect the presence he commanded; he was a man that let love and service to others guide his actions, and this is the legacy that he leaves behind. His family hopes that you will follow his example and live your life with love in your heart, with your family at the forefront of your mind, and always asking what you can do to help others.In addition to his loving family, Glen is survived by his siblings Cecily, Raelene, and Wayne. Our family would like to send their sincere gratitude and thanks to the team of 2 East at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Dr. Gharavi, in particular, was outstanding. The care, support, and compassion that Glen and his family was shown by his healthcare providers was unparalleled. As per Glen's wishes, there will not be a visitation or funeral.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jean Matilda Doak, on Sunday November 2nd, 2025, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital at the amazing age of 94.Born in Maxwell, New Brunswick on July 14th, 1931, to the late Hugh and Susan (Bustard) Graham.Jean is survived by her one daughter, Carolin Bradbury (Jeff), her granddaughter Chloe Henderson (Nolan Hanson) and her adored great grandson, Drew. Not related, but just as intwined in her life, her neighbors Nancy and Bobby English, and their children Jennie, Erin and Alex. Thank-you for always welcoming her in every celebration, keeping her driveway cleared, and simply including her in your lives over the last 4 decades.She had a large family and was the last remaining sibling; she was predeceased by her sisters Pauline Slater, Marjorie Griffiths, Marion Graham, Joyce Whalen, Jacqueline Dickinson and brother Blair Graham.She loved staying up late talking on the phone and watching all sports but especially curling. She loved to knit and has donated hundreds of hats to hospitals for newborns. Late in life she spent her retired years babysitting children and because of her big heart she always grew close to those families, many would keep in touch as they grew older. Jean was an active member of church, St. Paul's Presbyterian, and the Oddfellows/ Rebekah's club. Her greatest joy was her great grandson who lovingly referred to her as GG and he will miss her greatly. Visitation at Carleton Funeral Home, 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville Saturday November 8th from 5:00pm – 8:00pm.Funeral service will be held on Sunday November 9th at 3:00 pm Carleton Funeral Home Chapel Interment will follow the funeral at the St David's Presbyterian cemetery in Kirkland.A reception will follow, location to TBD.Our sincere thank you to the staff at the Riverside Court for the kind and compassionate care they gave during her 3 years there. Also, Jean's time at the Dr. Everett Chalmers hospital was short, but a thank you must be given to the staff on 4NE for their thoughtful and attentive care. Pemberton Ridge, Nov. 20, 1945 - This community lost its oldest resident on Saturday, November 17, when John Graham passed away at his home here. Mr. Graham, who was 89 years of age, suffered a fall in May 1943 which rendered him helpless and he had been confined to his bed ever since that time, being tenderly cared for by his grandson, Gordon Graham and his wife, with whom he made his home. His wife and two sons predeceased him several years ago. He is survived by a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Edith Graham of New London, N.H., two grandsons, Gordon, Pemberton Ridge, Ralph of Saint John, two granddaughters, Mrs. Horace Bartlett of Houlton, Me., and Mrs. Richard Crowther of Bathurst, and six great grandchildren, a niece, several nephews and other relatives.
The funeral was held on Monday afternoon at the Baptist church, Forest City, with Rev. Mr. Taylor of Danforth, Me., as officiating clergyman. The choir from Green Mountain Church was present and sang three hymns, Does Jesus Care, Sometime We'll Understand and No Night There. There were several beautiful floral tributes. The pallbearers were Emery Farrell, Elias Foster, Edwin Farrell, and Arlie Boone. Interment was in the Forest City cemetery. The Orange Order, of which Mr. Graham had long been a member, conducted the service at the graveside and a verse of the hymn, Rock of Ages, was sung by the choir.

May 31, 1909 - The oldest inhabitant of this county and p0robably the oldest in the province, John Graham, died at the resident of his daughter, Mrs. John Nicholson at Kirkland on Tuesday, aged 109 years. He was born in Coleraine, Ireland, in 1800, and after being six weeks on the sea arrived in Saint John when he was 44 years of age. He worked in that city two years, where one son, Thompson Graham, was born, and then he took up residence in Kirkland, this county.
The difficulties of the eary settlers in this county were numerous. He used to walk to Fredericton, then go by boat to Saint John for supplies, back by boat to Fredericton and then carry his stuff on his back to Woodstock or Kirkland.
Hewas as prominent member of LOL No. 51 of Kikland.
Thompson, his son, died May 17, 1906, aged 59 years, and the following are living in this county: Thomas Graham, Mrs. John Crawford, Mirs. George Bustard, Mrs. Allen Wade, Mrs. Allen McDougall, Mrs. George Maxan and Mrs. John Nicholson.
The funeral took place on Thursday afternoon.

Joyce Pearl Barr of Fredericton, NB, passed away peacefully in her sleep in the Oromocto Public Hospital on July 8th, 2016. She was born to the late Harold and Grace (Greer) Graham, on March 21st, 1927 in Debec, NB, and wife of the late T. Forbes Barr. Joyce was known and loved by many. She had many careers in her life, her last and favourite being with Gardiner Realty as a Real Estate Agent. She loved the thrill of a deal and a good horse race, meeting new people, and animals, which always seemed to gravitate to her. She provided friendship and counsel through her intuitive gifts. While Joyce was a very social lady, she could often be found spending time with her cat, Rose, 'the most beautiful cat in the world'. After retiring from Real Estate, every winter while she was well, Joyce would travel to Phoenix, AZ, to spend time with her daughter, Dianne, and her family. The rest of the year, Joyce spent much of her time with her daughter, Andrea, and her family. Joyce was always up for shopping and enjoyed travel. ‎ She was the proud mother and grandmother and is survived by her children, Dianne Herd (William), Graeme (Margaret), Chris (Bonny), and Andrea Allen (Richard); grandsons, David Herd (Cathy), Jeffrey Herd (Casey); and granddaughters, Sydney Allen and Greer Allen; as well as her five great-grandchildren, RubyGrace, Benjamin, Henry, Louise and Elijah; siblings, Wayne (Connie) and Dennis Graham, Marie Calder, Cecily Fredericks (Reg), Raelene Thereault (Raoul), Sherrill Kinney (Tom) and Glen Graham (Sylvia); as well as several nieces and nephews.‎Along with her parents and husband, Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings, Keith and Larry Graham and Lona Johnston.Visitation will be held in McAdam's Funeral Home on Monday, July 11th, 2016 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm. A memorial service will be held in St. Paul's United Church on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016 at 2:00 pm with The Rev. Richard Bowley officiating. Interment will take place in the Forest Hill Cemetery. It is with great sadness and deep loss that the family of Lawrence Graham of Nackawic, NB, formerly of Fosterville, NB announces his passing at the Dr, Everett Chalmers Hospital on Sunday, April 12, 2020 at the age of 73. Lawrence is survived by his wife, Joyce (Durling) Graham, Nackawic, NB; two sons, Larry Graham, Nackawic, NB. and Jeff Graham (Annie), Fredericton, NB.; four grandchildren, Jamie Graham, Daniel Graham, Lindsay Graham, and Ryan Graham; one sister, Freda Roussell (Robert), and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Lawrence was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Annie (Wood) Graham, and three brothers, Orlo Graham, Royden Graham, and Clayton Graham.Lawrence was a private man and loved watching tv and spending time at home with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved his pets, especially Mr. Tibbs. He loved the great outdoors, and took every opportunity to hunt, fish and go four wheeling. He spent a lot of time creating makeshift inventions and finishing rooms in his home and his sons'. He was very proud of his special project; his camp at Taffy Lake, where he had many fun-filled and relaxing moments.He spent most of his work life driving truck and operating heavy equipment for Valley Forest Products. He spent a great deal of his life worshipping at Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church, playing bass guitar on stage as well as for quartets, cantatas and special numbers for several years.His health took a turn a few years ago as he underwent quintuple heart bypass surgery and three back surgeries. He spent some of his last hours watching the Easter Service online at The Ridge Church, until he was uplifted by angels' wings and taken on to his heavenly home.Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street Woodstock, NB There will be no visitation or funeral. Internment will be held at the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at a later date.For those who wish to make a donation, please consider the Diabetic Association of Canada or Maple Ridge Wesleyan Church.

Obit from Bangor Daily News on Monday, April 19, 1976 reads: Leslie M. Walls, 45, died April 17 in Orrington as result of a plane crash. He was born in Forest City, May 1, 1930, son of Melzie and Arlene Walls. Surviving, besides his father, Melzie, of Forest Hills, NB., are grandparents, Ervine and Jesse Walls of Bangor; his wife, Diane (Nowes) Walls of Brewer; one son, Steven Walls of Bangor, one daughter, Miss Kahy Marie Walls of Westfield, MA; one brother, Herbert Walls of Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Jamie Marie Walls of Bangor.
He was the owner of Les Walls TV of Brewer. He was a member of the Piolet's Association and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Funder services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Tuesday. An evening service will be held 7:30 p.m. on Monday by the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

Note:- There are a few things wrong with this obituary. his father was Merrill Graham, not "Melzie Walls". After Arlene died, Merrill was not in a position to care for the two boys: Leslie (who went by the name "Junior", and Herbert. The story went that when Merrill married the second time to Lydia Fish, he tried to gain custody of the boys, ages 5 and 6, who were then living with their maternal grandparents, Erv and Jesse Walls. Merrill was not successful. Whether Erv and Jesse officially adopted the two boys is not known by me. There may have been some ill feelings between the Walls' and Merril that contibuted to the problem. Whoever wrote the obituary made no mention of his half-brothers and sisters in Forest City, NB. - not Forest Hills, NB.
There was also speculation that the fatal plane crash was deliberate.

Maiden Thirty-nine 
She with the twinkling blue eyes and peach complexion, a flash of pearly white exposed through sensual lips the color of ripe strawberry, framed by the casual toss of honey colored hair. Small in stature, large in angelic innocence of youth, she, to him, embodied the perfection of woman personified.
He with the dark hair and rugged good looks, 190 pounds of masculinity packed evenly over a six-foot plus frame, faintly resembled "Pug" of the Winds of War. He harbored the same restless spirit, running before the wind, laughing at risks, little caring of the thoughts of others, yet within dwelt a sensitive soul hidden from those of less perceiving nature.
They grew up in communities less than three miles apart, yet took little notice of each other in those early years. Only after he had been absent from the area for a period of time and on his return did he marvel at the change. She had blossomed into womanhood. In a conversation with a friend, he observed in a boastful way, with all the cockiness of a self-assured youth, he would add her to his growing list of conquests. That she would not succumb to his charm never entered his mind.
And so it came to pass on a golden Sunday in autumn when he stopped by her home and invited her for a drive. They had no particular destination in mind; just a leisurely trip along the unpaved byways of the countryside. Chatting easily, she claimed her position in the center portion of the '51 Chevy's front seat next to him. The attraction was mutual and instantaneous. All too soon the afternoon passed and as he dropped her off, they made a date for the following weekend. He reflected on his way home, that somehow the colors of the passing meadow seem a bit brighter, the tall grass swaying to and fro in the gentle breezes as if dancing with glee with some hidden knowledge. Even the tall maples lining the roadway, shivered in delight. He saw all of this, but thought only of her. What was this strange feeling associated with the vision of her that repeated itself over and over in his mind, like a never ending movie? All he knew for certain was he had to see her again.
Their frequent dates were no different than those of their contemporaries; attending a community party, visiting friends and relatives, but more often just simply driving about and hours of parking. During those private and secluded times, they discussed their most intimate thoughts, longings and desires, their future and dreams. They explored the wonders of the human body and marveled at the pleasures therein. Autumn gave way to winter which passed before the steady inroads of spring. They gave little thought to the passing seasons, but gone from his mind were the boasts of conquest of earlier days. He had fallen so completely under her spell that he thought not in terms of a statistical relationship, but a permanent one. He wanted her to be his wife. When he posed the question, she gazed lovingly upon his face and whispered in her uniquely husky voice, "Yes, my love. It was he who had been conquered.
Romantic dreams often have difficulty with economic reality. As they grappled with these new concepts, the relationship entered a new dimension. Although their parents had done well, the prospects of housekeeping in rural New Brunswick somehow did not fit their dreams. There were well paying jobs to be had, but distant from family and friends. It meant time apart as he struggled to become established.
One evening in late summer she delivered a crushing blow. In a soft voice, she broke a long silence in which she said, "I think we should stop seeing each other. I still think of you all the time and dream of you at night; but perhaps it would be better if we went our separate ways for awhile." Had she stabbed him with a knife, he could not have been more stunned. Completely empty, he felt ... nothing at the moment. He could only blurt out a tortured "Why?". She could no more explain the reason why then he could explain the theory of relativity. Accustomed to catering to her every wish, he could only mumble "if that is your desire." Only after he drove away did the emptiness in the car and his soul smite him with pain and grief like he had never experienced before. He pulled to the curb and there in the solitude of his car, he gave vent to his emotions. Tears poured down his cheek as he raised his anguished eyes to heaven and pleaded with his God to provide some inkling of understanding; and above all, to watch over her. He gave no thought to the passage of time, no thought to the future. The massive, aching, longing knot in his stomach kept him firmly rooted to the present.
Eventually he buried the pain and went about his daily activities of work and sleep. He entered no new relationship, preferring instead the isolation of his small rural community. He spoke not her name, and when a Christmas card arrived from the City signed "with love", he placed it among the treasured possessions kept in her memory. Finally he broke loose with the coming of spring and now "conquests" became just that. As if to punish himself, or her, he charmed his way into the hearts of the unsuspecting and with cruel delight, cast them off like a discarded shoe. Outwardly he gave the appearance of wild, cocksure youth with boundless enthusiasm for life. Inwardly, he had died a thousand deaths as the days became months and the months years.
Fifteen years would pass before they would see each other again. She had married, borne a son and moved stateside. He, too, had married and the father of four sons. She in the process of separation and divorce; he still living with his wife but terribly unhappy. They met by chance during a coincidental visit to their respective communities and in the twilight beneath the velvet sky of August, they came into each others arms. As their lips touched, the years fell away as if they never existed. Their fate, their destiny, their existence became one forever etched upon the eternal universe, a infinite moment in time. Later as they gazed at the fullness of the moon and she asked if he had been happy, he could only speak of the longing and love he had carried for so long. She did not want to make worse an already unpleasant separation and so asked him for understanding. Pointing to the silver orb beaming, it seemed to him, with approval, she said, "Whenever you see that full moon, it will be our contact. You will know my thoughts are of you." He was comforted by the knowledge that somewhere, somehow, the future would be brighter.
Do the gods toy with humans as pawns in a giant chess game? It would seem so. She completed her divorce and never remarried. He followed her along the path of separation and divorce, yet remarried to another who is an angel in her own right quite aware of the silver threaded connection to another. They lived in separate countries, linked only by memories and that monthly messenger that traveled the heavens.
He received word of her illness and called her on the phone. The sensuous voice that answered gave no hint of the ravaging disease literally devouring her body bit by bit. He told her he had only recently heard of her illness and wanted her to know his thoughts were with her, and of her, constantly. They talked of better times, he cheered by the familiar tinkle of her laugh and yet saddened by the clear knowledge of the inevitable outcome. They stayed in touch by phone and letter over the next year, but finally came the news he had been expecting but still dreading. She had succumbed to that uncaring specter with the scythe.
As he stood silently gazing down upon the beautiful face framed by the whiteness of the casket lining, remembering her as the one who lit the fires of love that for thirty-eight years could never be extinguished, only reduced to embers. With a heavy heart and eyes damp with tears, he gently placed on her folded hands a single rose with a note wrapped around its stem. The note read: Madeline Edwina Graham, 1939 - 1997 God took my angel home today He took away her pain, While still I walk the lonely way Till I see her once again.

She was a member of St David's Presbyterian Church, Kirkland, and was active in the Canadian Cancer Society, Royal Canadian Legion and the RiverRoad Club, until failing health. Funeral service was held on March 14, 2001 at Scott's Chapel with Rev James Hurd officiating, with interment in the Christ Church Cemetery at a later date - From an obituary in the Woodstock Bugle, Mar 28, 2001.

Pearl Gladys Collier of Fosterville, NB passed away August 24, 2017 at the Upper River Valley Hospital. Gladys was born in 1932 at Pemberton Ridge, NB, a daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel (Dewitt) Graham.
She is survived by her husband, C. Thomas Collier; two daughters, Melinda Farrell (Alvin), Woodstock, NB and Rosalee Grant (Allison), Richmond Corner, NB; three sons, Lorry Collier (Bev), Kirkland, NB, Brent Collier (Lori), Mapledale, NB and Blake Collier (Tina), Southampton, NB; eight grandchildren, Darlene (Derek), Darren (Jill), Christopher, Patrick, Thomas (Jennifer), Jessie (Allen), Graham and Tyson; eight great grandchildren, Lily, Macy, Leah, Kohan, Klaire, Brayden, Hadley and Kinsley; two sisters, Lois Gould, Fosterville, NB and Donna Smith, Illinois, USA; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers Stanley, Clifford and Frederick Graham; sisters, Margaret Cunningham and Madline Morin; grandchildren, Stacy Collier and Troy Farrell.
Visiting hours will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Friday evening from 6 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at 2 pm from the funeral home chapel with Rev. George Clark and Rev. Charles Yerxa officiating, followed immediately by a reception in the funeral home dining room. Interment at Fosterville Lower Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers will be Darlene Lawrence and Jessie Collier.

The death of Phyllis Erene Estey of Fredericton, wife of the late Stanley Estey, occurred at her residence on Monday, April 19, 2004.Born in Pemberton Ridge, York Co., NB, she was a daughter of the late Victor E. and Jennie (Starten) Graham. Mrs. Estey was a member of the Nashwaaksis United Church and was active in all church activities. She was a Housewife and hairdresser and a member of the Hairdressers Association. For several years Phyllis was a Director of Mary Kay Cosmetics. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the Mic Mac Trailor Club.Mrs. Estey is survived by three daughters, Norma Davidson (Earl), Gail Wellings (Thomas) and Laurie Cole (Peter) all of Fredericton; one son, Robert Estey of Burnaby, BC; seven grandchildren, Lynn Fletcher (Jay), Steven Davidson, Const. April Wellings, Jennifer Wellings (Dan), Shilo Boucher (Troy), Devon Stephen Estey Cole, Brogan Graham Cole; one great grand daughter Paige Fletcher; one sister, Jean Cropley (Maurice) of Forest City, York Co., NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one sister, Winnifred.Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton North on Thursday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 2 pm from the York Funeral Home's T. Gordon Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gil MacKenzie officiating. Interment will be held in the Centennial United Church Cemetery, Nashwaak Village. GRAHAM, Richard Stephen - 51yrs, of Harmony, NS passed away peacefully Thursday, October 3, 2013 at home. Born in Woodstock, NB he was a son of Winnifred Nixon Graham Lightfoot, Wilmot and the late Charles Graham. Richard loved hunting, fishing and playing pool and poker. He was a self-employed carpenter who enjoyed carving wood and soap stone and loved painting. Besides his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Graham (Amanda Leopold), Windsor; son, Richard “Keith” Graham, Bridgewater and their mother Valerie, Bridgewater; sister, Susan (Mike) Johnson, Nictaux; brother, Bruce (Jennifer) Graham, Caledonia, ON; girlfriend, Janet Sawler, Greenwood; nieces and nephews Shawna, Amanda, Adam, Jolene, Bradley, Ryan, Chelsea, Ashley, Meaghan and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father Charles Graham, his sister Corinne Bruce, his brother Christopher Graham and his step father Irving Lightfoot. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 7-9PM Tuesday, October 8, 2013 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448 where the memorial service will be held 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 9, 2013 with Rev. David Phillips officiating. A reception for family and friends will follow the service. Private family interment will be held in the Bayview Cemetery, Margaretsville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Richard's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
