The passing of Aubrey Wilson Dorcas of Fredericton, NB, husband of Brenda (Hunter) Dorcas occurred on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 21, 1938 in Williamsburg, NB, he was the son of the late Edgar and Hilda (Merrill) Dorcas. Aubrey worked for the Fredericton Police Force from 1964-1978 and then moved on to become Police Chief in Blackville, NB. In addition to his work in the police force, he provided security at St.Anne Nackawic Pulp Mill. He was a certified scaffolderm, who worked on projects including the Princess Margaret Bridge renovations. Aubrey was also a member of the Royal Canadian Navy from 1956-1964. In addition to his wife, Aubrey is survived by his daughters, Heather Dorcas-Reed (Mike King) of Fredericton, NB, Brenda Dorcas of Saint John, NB, Cindy Love (Peter Shea) of Fredericton, NB, Courtney Hemphill (Matthew) of Grand Falls, NB and Joyce Gerrard (Kenneth) of Cold Lake, AB; son, Wade Dorcas of Fredericton, NB; stepchildren, Jaime Burtt (Angie), Shelley Christie (Brian), Jennifer Jamieson (George) all of Fredericton, NB and Jeffrey Hunter of Halifax, NS; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marleen Dorcas of Fredericton, NB; brother, Sterling Dorcas (Bernice) of Fredericton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Daily Gleaner, Mar 12, 1959 R. Earle Douglass, 30, of Maugerville, was found dead in his car at Juniper yesterday morning by Manzer Boyd, an employee of the Flemming Gibson Lumber Co., of Juniper.
It is believed Mr. Douglass had stopped his car to have a sleep and kept the motor running to keep warm. Death was attributed to carbon monoxide poisoning. He was found about 8 a.m. Coroner Dr. D.A. Somerville of Bristol ruled that an inquest would not be necessary.
The East Florenceville detachment of the RCMP investigated.
Mr. Doluglass had been employed by the Atlas Construction company for the last year on the new bridge at Hartland. Previously he had been emplyed with Tractors and Equipment for several years.
He is survived by his wife the former Glenna Mary Spencer; two sons, Cecil and Kenneth, at home; two daughters, Cheryl and Agness, both at home; two brothers, Charles of Stanley and Lloyd of Lincoln. Six sisters, Mrs. Alex Crowell and Mrs Luther Bubar, Nashwaak Bridge, Mrs David Keenan, Maugerville, Mrs Lawrence Nash, Quarryville, Mrs. Richard Clark, Nashwaaksis and Miss Edith Douglass, Stanley; also his mother Mrs. Edward Douglass, Stanley.
Interment in the Anglican Cemetery Lower St. Mary's.

The community was shocked on Sunday when word was received that Mrs. Sarah Farrell had died very suddenly at the home of her son Emery. The deceased had been suffering from a severe cold and had only taken her bed on Friday. Dr. Curtis of Danforth pronounced her malady pneumonia. Owing to her advanced age (82 years) she was unable to withstand the ravages, passing peacefully away on Sunday at 1 o'clock p.m. in the presence of her immediate family. She leaves to mourn her loss give sons, Stephen, Henry, George, Emery and Elmer, and three daughters, Mrs. Moses Dow, Mrs. Daniel Graham and Mrs. Geo. Duffie.
The funeral took place from the home of her son, Emery, on Tuesday, 16th inst. Rev. C.N. Barton had charge of the service at the house and grave. The hymns were, "Beyond the Sunset", and the "Weeping", "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", and "I Shall be Satisfied", and at the grave, "When My Life Work is Ended."

PRESQUE ISLE - Dorothy M. Parks, 76, died Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2006, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born March 3, 1930, in Yarmouth, the daughter of Lester and Roxie (Foster) Dunning. She worked at Columbia Forest Products for 14 years, worked as a cook at George's Restaurant, Northern Maine Technical College and the University of Maine - Presque Isle. She is survived by a daughter, Luann Varney and her husband, Curtis, of Canterbury, New Brunswick; a son, Stephen Parks and his wife, Marie, of Westfield, three granddaughters, Deanna Edwards and her husband, Neil, of Canterbury, New Brunswick, Susan Skidgell and her husband, Geoffery, of Mapleton, Christine Guimond and her husband, Zenon, of Rockland; two grandsons, Alex Varney of Canterbury, New Brunswick and Philip Brown and his wife, Sandy, of Mapleton; five great-granddaughters, Kolby and Kylee Edwards of Canterbury, New Brunswick, Erica Smith and Amy Thurlow of Mapleton and Brittney Guimond of Rockland; one great-grandson, Ryan Guimond of Rockland; a sister-in-law, Shirley Parks of Debec, New Brunswick; a brother-in-law, Lynwood Brown of Robinson; a brother and sister-in-law, Waymen and Mable Foster of St. John, New Brunswick, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Wendell Parks in 1989; and a sister, Floris Duntley in 2006. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, at the funeral home with the Rev. David Williams officiating. Interment will be at Lower Fosterville Cemetery, Fosterville, New Brunswick.

Clara was married just before or just after her 14th birthday.

Medway - Marilyn E. Boone, 77, passed away Monday, July 11, 2011, with her loving husband of 61 years by her side. She was born November 30, 1933 in Little Deer lsle to Doris Eaton. Marilyn touched many lives and was loved by all who knew her. Marilyn is survived by her husband Royce Boone of Medway; daughters Sandra Dean of North Carolina and Annette Fitzgerald and her husband Paul of Millinocket; son Neal Boone and his wife Chris of Millinocket; sister Shirley Carville of Little Deer lsle; brother Linden Eaton of New Paltz, New York; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Roger Joseph Fagan of Woodstock, passed away at his home in Woodstock on Friday, September 23, 2011, at the age of 82. Roger is survived by his spouse, Jane Farrell; two sons, Patrick (Janet) Fagan, Roger Fagan Jr. one daughter, Susan Fagan and one step-son Chris DeWitt all of Alberta; three sisters, Marian Smith, Blanche Hawes and Marjorie Latham; five brothers, Valerie (Adrienne) Fagan, Gordon (Elsia) Fagan, Rene Fagan, Tommy Fagan and Raymond (Emmie) Fagan; several grand children, nieces and nephews. Roger was pre-deceased by his parents Frank and Stella (Donelle) Fagan; four sisters, Armeline, Lenita, Marie Matilda, and Mabel; two brothers, George and Frank Jr. Roger is a retired truck driver and was known for his passionate love of horses and racing, He was a long time member of the United States and Canadian Trotting Associations, and was the proud owner of a racing horse named Adious Morgan.
Roger is resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, NB, with visiting on Monday, September 26, 2011, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 10:00 am from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Charming Nuptials in St. Paul's Church [1948] A wedding of interest took place on Thursday afternoon, May 13th, when Rev. J. Arthur Forbes united in marriage Althea Helena, daughter of Mr and mrs Edwin Farrell, of Fosterville, N.B., and William Hickson Vye, son of Mr and Mrs Hiram Vye, of Doughlastown, N.B.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a gown of white Duchess satin with ragamuffin sleeves, having a full skirt and train. She wore a strand of pearls, a gift of the groom, and carried a cascade bouquet of pink Talisman roses. Mrs Pearl Crain, as Matron of honor, was gowned in yellow crepe, with smoked puffed sleeves and peplum, should length veil and elbow length mitts, and carried a nosegay of sweetpeas and roses.
The bridesmaids, Miss Grace Estey and Miss Muriel Hall, wore long-torso gowns with bustle effect of nylon taffeta in mauve and nile gree, shoulder length veils and elbow length mitts and carried nosegays of sweetpeas and roses. Myron Vye, brother of the groom, was best man, and the ushers were Frank Ryan and John Hall. Miss Joan Estey sang "I Love You Truly" and "Oh Promise Me", and Mrs L.A. Dyson played the nuptial music.
Immediately after the ceremony a reception was held at the Lord Beaverbrook Hotel, where the guests were received by the bridal party and the bride's mother, gowned in a navy blue dress with fuchsia accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses. The groom's mother was gowned in a turquoise dress and black accessories and a corsage of Talisman roses.
For traveling the bride wore a tailored grey suit with grey plaid cape to match, and mulberry hat and accessories, and wore a corsage of roses. The couple left on a wedding trip through Maine and Boston.
The bride is a graduate of the Canterbury High School, Canterbury, and Normal School, Fredericton, and before her marriage was on the staff of the Gaiety Women's Shoppe. The groom is a graduate of Harkins High School, Newcastle, N.B., and the Maritime Ranger School, Fredericton, and is on the staff of the N.B. Forest Service in Newcastle. Mr and Mrs Vye are residing in Newcastle.

90, passed away peacefully at Parkstone Enhanced Care in Halifax on Saturday, October 1, 2016. Born in Fosterville, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Edith Farrell. Bunny will be truly missed as she was a loving mother, adoring grandmother and loyal friend. Her pleasant smile and caring personality defined her character. Bunny graduated from Normal School in Fredericton and taught for a year in Perth Andover. She later married and moved to the Miramichi where she lived until four years ago when she moved to the Halifax area. During her lifetime, Bunny was actively involved in her community. She was a member of the Eastern Star-Prince Charles Chapter, where she held the position of Worthy Matron. She was also appointed a Grand Representative commissioned to a chapter in British Columbia. Over the years, Bunny was a member of St. Mark's United Church in Douglastown. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, served on the Board of Stewarts, was a member of the U.C.W. and visited the sick and shut-in for the church. She received the Merit Award for years of volunteer work which included Meals On Wheels - 20+ years, served on the Board of Directors for the Food Bank, assisted with taking meals to the Salvation Army once a month and volunteered at the hospital and gift shop. Her passions included spending time with family and friends, playing golf, line dancing, bowling and playing bridge. She enjoyed many wonderful summers with family and friends at the cottage in East Point.
She is survived by daughter, Debby (Roger) White; 2 sons, Glen (Beth) Vye and Derek (Kathy) Vye; grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew and Jonathan White; Erin (Vye) Cogswell; Wendell Vye and Samantha (Vye) Seely; great grandchildren, Andrea White; William White; Mya and Riley Cogswell; as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Bunny was predeceased by her best friend and husband, William (Bill) Vye, her only sibling, Horace Farrell and eldest granddaughter, Amanda Vye.A special thank you is extended to the staff on Point Pleasant Way, Parkstone-Enhanced Care for all of your care and compassion. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 4th at 1 p.m. at St. Andrews United Church, 188 Wellington Street, Chatham NB. Birthday Party Mrs Amanda Graham and Emery Farrell Honored By Friends and Relatives Eel River Lake, Sept 5, [1946] - About 30 relatives and friends of Mrs Amanda Graham and Emery Farrell gathered recently at the home of Mrs Graham in honor of Mrs Graham and Mrs Farrell's birthday. Mrs Amanda G. Graham [1956] The death of Amanda G Graham, widow of Daniel Graham, occurred at her home at Eel River Lake.
She was 83 and had been in failing health for six months. She was the daughter of the late Mr and Mrs David Farrell of North Lake, York County.
She is survived by five sons: Frank of Maxwell, York County; Ambrose of Houlton, Me.; Arthur of Canterbury; Emery and Albert at home. Two daughters and one son predeceased her. She is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. A twin brother, Emery Farrell, North Lake, also survives.
Funeral service was held from the home to the Baptist Church at Eel River Lake, Rev. M. Hicks officiating. Pallbearers were Eric and Floyd Smith, Emery Armour, and Charles Hawkes. Burial was at Fosterville.

1947] A pretty wedding took place at the Congregational Parsonage at Houlton, Me., on Wednesday, April 16 at four o'clock when rev Gilbert Condit using the double ring service, united in marriage, Bernice Vivian, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Medley Farrell of Woodstock, N.B. to Arnard Reginald, only son of Mr and Mrs M.G. Nobel of Littletown [sic], Maine.
The bride looked charming in a light b lue wool suit with black accessories, and wore a corsage of pink roses and maidenhair fern.
Miss Glenna Farrelll, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and wore a sky blue wool suit with black accessories and wore a corsage of red roses and maidenhair fern.
Mr Ronny Brewer of Littleton acted as groomsman.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the bride's home where buffet luncheon was served to about forty five guests.
The bride's table was covered with a lace cloth centred by a three tier wedding cake surmounted by a miniature bride and groom, and flanked with spring flowers and white tapers in silver holders, streamers of pink and white extended from the ceiling to the four corners of the table, while in the centre hung a large white bell.
Girl friends of the bride served; the Misses Betty Moffatt, Mary Little, Lenore Guy, Mary Gallagher, Marjorie Thornton.
The bride's gift to the bridesmaid was a set of sterling silver earrings; the groom's gift to the groomsman was a leather billfold.
The happy couple left by car for Mass. and other parts of the States. For going away the bride donned a turquoise blue coat with gold nail head trimmed.
The bride and groom were the recipients of many lovely gifts including silver, china, linen, electrical appliances and money. On the young couple's return, they will reside in Littleton.

With great sadness the family announces the passing of Cameron Paul Farrell at URVH on November 5, 2025 with his wife Rhonda by his side. Cameron was born in Woodstock on May 6, 1952 to the late Paul and Marjorie Farrell of North Lake where Cameron resided until he and Rhonda moved to Woodstock in 2013.
Cameron is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rhonda (Strong), his son and best friend Kyle (Megan) of Jacksonville, sister Becky Betts (Ed) of Fredericton, brother Kevin Farrell (Janey), and nephew Lance all of Richmond Corner, sister-in-law Brenda Garrett (Brian), nephew Brock all of Vancouver, BC, brother-in-law Carl Strong (Linda) of 100 Mile House, BC and niece Sara, as well as numerous cousins. Special mention to uncles Marvin Foster and Hans Schwerdel.
Cameron graduated from Canterbury High School in 1971 and started his working years with Dept. of Transportation in Fredericton that fall. He then worked a few years at the Plywood Mill in McAdam with a group of guys from North Lake area. He then bought his own dump truck and was self-employed for a few years. The last 35 years he has been a faithful Canada Post employee. Very rarely did he miss a day delivering the mail on his route from Forest City to Canterbury and surrounding communities. For a number of years he also delivered the Telegraph Journal and Daily Gleaner, often getting up at 2 AM to pick up the papers and deliver them before starting his mail route. His family often heard comments from the residents that Cameron made their day with his infectious laugh and sometimes outrageous stories. For some of his elderly clients he often delivered the mail or the paper right to their door. His popularity was evidenced by the many gifts he received at Christmas. Cameron had a variety of interests, among them was provincial politics. Being a Farrell, of course he was an avid Progressive Conservative, being in involved with the party at the local level. He was also an avid sports fan, baseball and hockey being his favourites. Much to Kevin's dismay, they never cheered for the same teams which led to much "discussion". Much to Becky's dismay there were too many times that Hockey Night in Canada took preference over a good movie on Saturday night on the one family television. Cameron didn't travel a lot but he did get to see both coasts of Canada. In 1971 he went on a tenting trip to Newfoundland with Greg Foster, Roland Farrell and Clayton Graham. Lots of stories were told about that trip, likely many haven't been told yet. In 2023 Rhonda convinced him to fly to British Columbia for a visit with her sister. Being Cameron, he told everyone that he was sure the plane would crash. But of course he got there and back and had a great time.
Cameron will be missed by everyone but will be remembered for his larger than life personality and his infectious laugh. His grand-dog Hank is especially going to miss his morning trip to Tim's for coffee. Rhonda and Kyle would like to thank the staff of the oncology department and 2North at URVH for the great care Cameron received over his two year cancer journey. Thanks also to Dr. Chandra for his care over the years.Per Cameron's request there is no visitation and no funeral. Arrangements are with Culberson's Funeral Home in Woodstock. The family has requested that donations be made to the River Valley Support Group or charity of the donor's choice.

Birthday Party Mrs Amanda Graham and Emery Farrell Honored By Friends and Relatives Eel River Lake, Sept 5, [1946]-About 30 relatives and friends of Mrs Amanda Graham and Emery Farrell gathered recently at the home of Mrs Graham in honor of Mrs Graham and Mrs Farrell's birthday. They were 73 years of age. Supper was enjoyed by all and two birthday cakes were presented to them by Mrs Arthur Graham of Canterbury, N.B., and Mrs Marshall Davidson. A pretty candlelight wedding took place at the Marne United Baptist church when Joan Marie, daughter of Mr and Mrs Guy Durling, of Canterbury, was united in marriage with Clayton George Farrell, son of Mrs Nellie Gillispie and the late Robert Farrell of Fosterville. Rev. Henry Alaby officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The altar was adorned with baskets of gladioli and lilies of the valley marked the guest pews.
Given in marriage by her father the bride was attended by bridesmaid, Mrs Aubrey Dow, sister of the bride. The flower girl was trudy Farrell, niece of the groom and the ring bearer was Christopher Farrell, nephew of the groom.
Aubrey Dow was groomsman and Roland Farrell and Alvin Farrell were ushers. Mrs Guy Grant played the nuptial music and accompanied the guest soloist Miss Eileen Ritchie who rendered two solos "O Perfect Love" and the "Wedding Prayer." The bride wore a floor length A-line gown of white peau de soie trimmed with blue velvet ribbon with floor length train. She carried a cascade bouquet of red roses. A head piece of white roses and seed pearls held her should length veil. For jewellery she wre a gold cross necklace, a gift of the groom.
The bridesmaid wore a floor length gown of turquoise organza over taffeta trimmed with white lace with an organza train. She carried a bouquet of mums tinted turquoise and yellow.
The mother of the brided was attired in an aqua fortrel dress with white accessories and a corsage of pink and white mums. The mother of the groom wore a blue dress of lace over taffeta with white accessories and a corsage of blue and white mums.
Following the ceremony a reception was held in the United Church hall, Canterbury. For their wedding trip the bride wore a green dress with white accessories and a corsage of white and green tinted mums.
Mr and Mrs Farrell will reside in Woodstock where the groom is employed with Gerald Hawkes and the bride will be teaching at Broadway School.
