Evelyn Ruth Elliott, 82, of Debec NB passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at her residence. Evelyn was born in North Lake Parish NB on February 15, 1932 daughter of the late Dalton and Audrey (Veysey) Carr.
Evelyn is survived by her husband: Richard Elliott, children; Pamela Donnelly, Karen Baglole (Allen), Lorna Harris (Stephen) daughter in law; Emily Nicholson (Jerry Anderson) , eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sisters; Jackie Farrell (Freeman), Carol Fryer (Terry), brothers; Ronnie Carr (Blanche), Philip Carr (Linda), nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides her parents; Evelyn was predeceased by her 1st husband, Lorne Nicholson, son, Floyd Nicholson and a son in law, Brian Donnelly.Visitation will be held at The Carleton Funeral & Crematorium 337 Lockhart Mill Road Jacksonville on Monday, September 29, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Floyd Carr on August 19, in St. Stephen, NB at the age of 77. Predeceased by his wife Jane Murphy Carr and son Jeffrey Michael. Lillian Sarah Williams of Debec, NB. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our Mother, Lillian Sarah (Carr) Williams on Dec 10th, 2011 at the Carleton Manor, Woodstock, NB . Born on May 12, 1915 she was the daughter of the late Colvin Carr and Maude (Griffin) Carr. Lillian lived in Debec with her husband Johnny where they enjoyed many years together. She loved gardening and cooking for her family and many visitors. She was always ready with a cup of tea ! She was a caring Mother and loved all the little ones who eventually came into her family. Lillian is survived by her son, Eugene and his wife Thelma of Moncton and her daughter,Sylvia and her husband Jim Young of Riverview, six grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, sisters in law Jessie Carr, and Muriel Carr; many nieces and nephews.She is the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her husband Johnny, a grandson Lief Williams, Sisters Faye, Helena, Evelyn, Eunice and brothers Fred, Floyd and Allan; sister in law Betty Carr.Funeral Service was held on December 14, 2011 from the St. Gertrude's Catholic Church. Mamie was the youngest of five children born to Eliza Carr, two of which died young. She and her two brothers, Dalton (Dunk) and Delbert (Jimmy) were taken in and raised by nearby families when Eliza died during the influenza epidemic of 1918. She had never married, living with her brother, Tom, and his family along with her three children and her mother. It must have been a crowded household. Following Eliza's death, Dalton stayed where he was, with Tom. Delbert went to live with James and Mary (Till) Clark, while Mamie settled in with Joe and Anne Howe. When Mary Clark died about a year later, Delbert ended up back at Tom's place with Dalton where he remained until old enough to get out on his own. Mamie lived with the Howe's until she married.
It is generally accepted that John Collier is the father of Mamie and Delbert while Andrew Richardson is said to be Dalton's father. Apparently Eliza refused to marry John because he drank too much, but that didn't seem to stop her from maintaining an intimate relationship with him. Richardson was already married so that appears to be a bit of a side fling.
There is no way - short of DNA testing - to prove parentage one way or another for all those who had first hand knowledge are gone. Years ago, I asked Luella (Farrell) Buckingham about John and Eliza. "Oh," she said, "We don't talk about things like that." I questioned another long time member of the community, Mae (Collier) Moore about Mamie's father being John Collier. Mae simply said, "Well, we always claimed your mother as one of our own." A somewhat veiled admission to be sure. Yet, Mamie resembled the Collier's in looks a great deal.
Although Mamie doesn't specifically remember anyone telling her about her mother, or father, she always accepted the fact that Eliza and John were her parents. For years she kept secreted away in a little celophane packet, a picture of her mother, a lock of hair and a note listing the five children born of Eliza. This was the only tangible link to a totally disrupted family unit; one she never knew. Of course she grew up in the same community as her brothers and always stayed close to them, but Joe and Anne (she called them grammie and grampie Howe) were the only parents she ever knew.
She married Basil two months shy of her sixteenth birthday and bore a daughter ten months later and a son a year after that. Sadly, neither lived beyond their birth. Only when the third child arrived in 1937 when she was 20, did she manage to keep this squawling babe around long enough for him to write this in 2026. Three more children, one which died young, rounded out her family Mamie and Basil were almost identical in temperment. Both stubbord to a fault, neither a bit bashful about speaking their mind. It made for many lively verbal battles, which annoyed me to no end later in life.

BANGOR - Ruth P. Beatham, 91, wife of the late Stillman Beatham, died Aug. 3, 2007, at a local health care facility. She was born June 1, 1916, in Fosterville, New Brunsiwick, the daughter of Elliott and Edith (Cochran) Carr. Ruth enjoyed her grandchildren, her pets, arts, crafts and also her coffee. She is survived by seven sons, Bill Beatham of Sacramento, Calif., Stephen Craig of Connecticut, Johnny Kimball of Ellsworth, David and Nettie Beatham of Eddington, James Beatham and Vickie of Old Town, George and Karon Beatham of Bradford and Larry and Joe Beatham of Fitchburg, Mass.; four daughters, Gertrude and Gerald Folster of Brewer, Phyllis and Nathan Turner of Bangor, Kathleen White of Bangor and Rose and Bob Dorrance of Plymouth; one brother, Alton Carr of Bangor; two sisters, Vergie Quimby of Orono and Nettie Thompson of Florida; 32 grandchildren, and lots of great-grandchildren. Gram oh where do I start.
Your love for having everyone together was always a must. You were always so welcoming for all to come in. l remember visiting you both and always on a Sunday morning everyone would gather at Gram and Gramps. No matter who was there if it came meal time everyone was welcome to sit up and have a meal with the family. There were a few things in life that you didn't like and you made your voice heard. l must say I never heard you get really mad but you could always tell if you were upset. lf someone was supposed to be there at a certain time and weren't you would pace the floor. Not sure how the floor held up that particular path that you always walked. You made sure your house was always tidy and everything had its place. During the winters you and gramp would walk the crust down back or cross country-ski. ln the winters we would take the sled down back and someone would tow us. I know that made you nervous but you let us be kids. You had to get done school early to help raise the family. Something you never looked back on as a negative thing just part of helping the family. You and your siblings remained close but you liked your space as well. You never went to visit them much as you always felt you might be imposing on them. You cherished the time they came to visit you. You always made everyone feel welcome and they had to have a cup of coffe and a snack with their visit. l'm glad you had the chance to meet Dave before you got really bad. Your mind has faded but the memories we have of the wonderful times with you are never far away.
You didn't mind coming down here for a visit for a night or two but never more than that as you liked your bed and even though you were always welcome you would prefer to be home. You didn't like to travel to explore the world like Gramp but he accepted that and you always stayed close to home.

CRYSTAL - Madeline C. Boone, 93, Crystal, died peacefully July 1, 2019, in Houlton. She was born December 22, 1925, the daughter of Lester and Nora Chambers. She is survived by her husband of 72 years Darrell Boone of Crystal; three children, Dennis Boone of Crystal, Donald Boone of Patten and Darlene Qualey of Littleton; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Bessie Boone of Houlton; and one brother, Robert "Bob" Chambers of Crystal; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents and 8 siblings, Lester Leroy, Harold, Harley, Pat, Ronald, Rodney, Rowena and Helen.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 10th, at the Crystal Cemetery with the Rev. Lisa Graben officiating.

She was predeceased by a brother Harold Bill Chambers. Beloved mother and grandmother, Anna Leota White (nee Clark), Aged 93, passed away quietly in her sleep, Tuesday, August 12, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB.Born in Scotch Settlement, NB, she was a daughter the late F. Woodbury and Mary Elizabeth (Patterson) Clark. Mrs. White was a member of the Baptist Church and the Ladies Fellowship Group.She is survived by her son, Gordon Crandall (Helen); step-sons, Leonard White (June) and Kenneth White; step-daughter, Lorraine Homes (Stuart); a brother, Horace Clark (Jean); 14 grandchildren/step grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by husbands, Walter J. The Baptist Church of Bath was the scene of a quiet wedding on December 27, when the Rev. Mr Gibson united in marriage, Miss Betty Louise Greer, daughter of Mr and Mrs Alan Greer of Fosterville and Mr Clarke, son of Mr William Clarke of Holmesville.
The bride wore a navy blue tailored suit and matching hat and accessories. Her corsage was of red roses.
Her attendant, Miss Marietta Clarke, sister of the groom, wore a grey suit with matching accessories. The best man was Edward Clarke, brother of the groom.
The reception was held in the Holmesville Hall to the immediate families. On Dec 29, a shower and charivari was tendered them at her parents home, Mr and Mrs Alan Greer, where they received many useful and beautiful gifts. They will reside in Hartland where the groom is employed as a carpenter.

Clayton Leonard Clark, 85, of Green Mountain NB passed away on Monday, March 16, 2020 at the Upper River Valley Hospital Waterville NB. Clayton was born in Moose Mountain NB on December 12, 1934 son of the late William and Mary Clark.Clayton is survived will be sadly missed by his wife Betty (Greer) Clark of 61 years, daughter, Roxanne Clark Duperron (Paul), Cornwall Ontario, sons, Gary Clark, Green Mountain NB, Stacy Clark, Cornwall Ontario, grandchildren, Cassandra, Robin, Traci, great grandchildren, Heavenly, Brayden, Noah, Nathan, Connor, Chloe, Hayden, Jordan, special four leg friend, Woolly, sisters, Marietta, Charlotte, Joyce, brothers, Edward, Cyril, Harley, special family friend, LeRoy Davenport, nieces, nephews and cousins.Besides his parents, Clayton was predeceased by a great granddaughter, Trinity, six brothers and three sisters.Clayton came from a family of seventeen and Clayton was somewhere in the middle. Clayton was a man of great knowledge and he could fix or make anything. He ran heavy equipment; his was a mechanic, a welder, and a fireman. Lots of time he fixed cars and trucks over the phone by just tell him what was wrong. Clayton was a man of knowledge with only a grade eight education. Clayton will be sadly missed by the community.Clayton family is going to take precautions in regards to the Coronavirus Outbreak and have no visitation or funeral service. A public graveside service will be held in Lower Fosterville Cemetery at a later date with a time and date to be announced.As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the living memorial fund.

Died At Forest City George H. Clark, Postmaster, Keeper of General Store, Was 82 Years Old - Forest City, Nov 22, [1943] This community lost one of its oldest and most respected citizens on Thursday afternoon when George Herbert Clark passed away very suddenly at his home here. Although his health had not been of the best for some time, he was not one to give up, and had been attending to his duties as Postmaster and to his other chores as usual until the last few days. He was 82 years of age and had always been a prominent citizen in the area of Forest City. Deacon of the Baptist Church for many years, he was one of its staunchest supporters, and was always interested in everything for the good of the community.
In earlier years he carried on a lunbering business and gave employment to a great many men, and also kept a general store down through the years and took care of the Forest City Post office in the same building.
In early life he married Miss Anna Smith of Eel River Lake, who died in 1934. Later he married Mrs Bertha Corey, formerly of Portland, Me., who survives him. His two children George Herbert Jr. and Inez (Mrs Herbert Christie) both of Harvey, NB., also survive, and four grandchildren, besides several brothers and sisters and many other relatives. His sister, Mrs Etta McNally of Canterbury has been ill for some time and passed away on Friday, the day following her brother's death. Funeral services for Mr Clark were conducted at the Baptist Church here at one o'clock on Saturday, with the pastor of the Baptist church, Danforth, Me., as the officiating clergyman. His text was taken from 1st Samuel 20:3, "But truly, as the Lord Iiveth and sa thy soul liveth, there but one step between me and death." The hymns sung were Sweet By and By and Face to Face. The floral tributes were beautiful.
The pall-bearers were Floyd Smith, Eric Smith, John Wheaton and Silas Watson. Interment was made in the lower cemetery, Fosterville.

Percy Guy Clark, of Pembroke, passed away suddenly in Fredericton on August 6, 2010. He was born to Beulah and Wilbert Clark in North Lake, NB on October 16, 1951.
Percy worked in the woods for many years.
Percy is survived by; his step-mother Ramona Clark of Woodstock; siblings, Stella (Allen) Hayes of Benton, Peter (Donna) Clark of Centreville, Doug (Roberta) Clark of Fosterville, George (Dorothy) Clark of Lower Woodstock, Wilbur (Buffy) Clark of Newburg; Linda, Mary and Steven all of the Halifax area, and Ernest in Moncton; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Percy was predeceased by his parents and his brother David.
Visitation will be held from Carleton Funeral Home on Monday evening, August 9, 2010 from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held from the Carleton Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday August 10, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Oral McAffee officiating. An interment will follow in the Lower Fosterville Cemetery.

The death of Wilson Dorwin Clark of Jacksontown, husband of Lois (Fox) Clark, occurred at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock on Wednesday, July 28, 2004, at the age of 76. Born at Moose Mountain, he was the son of the late William and Mary (DeMerchant) Clark. In addition to his wife, Wilson is survived by his children, Everett (Sally) Clark of Jacksontown and their children Kyle and Billy; Avis (Mark) Ward of Almonte, Ontario and their children Tyler and Kameshia; Robina (Harold) Sharkey of Bloomfield and their children Nicholas and Victoria; and Ernest (Lisa) Clark of Almonte, Ontario and their children Andrew, Riley, and Dylan; brothers Anson Clark of Hartland, Clayton (Betty) Clark of North Lake, Clarence (Eleanor) Clark of Cloverdale, Edward (Mildred) Clark of Hartland, Cyril Clark of Oshawa, Ontario, and Harley Clark of Riverview; sisters Iris Giggie of Perth-Andover and Marietta Johnston of Woodstock; and several nieces and nephews. Wilson was predeceased by a brother, Moncel Clark; and by a sister, Geraldine McLean. Resting at the Scott Funeral Home, 815 Main Street, Woodstock, with visiting on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM from the Scott Funeral Home Chapel. Lic. Stephen Hoyt will be officiating, with interment in the Fawcett Cemetery, Temperance Vale. April 3, 1959 - The death of Mrs. Hannah A. Johnson, 82, widow of Elijah Johnson, occurred at her home at Johnson Settlement, after a short illness. She was a life-long resident of Johnson Settlement and was well-known and highly respected. She was born at Canterbury, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Collicott.
She is survived by six sons, Samuel, at home, Douglas, Carl, and David of Canterbury; Lee of Saint John and Mark of Clarendon Station; six daughters, Ruby, at home, Mrs. Jennie MacDonald, Mrs. Bruce Grant of Canterbury, Mrs. Regina Yerxa of Meductic, Mrs. George Crompton of St. Stephen and Mrs. Richard Williams of Kitchener, Ont. One sister, Mrs. Hulda Durling of Meductic, and number of nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at her late home, Johnston Settlement, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Theodore Smith officiating, assisted by Rev. Ronald Blankley.
Interment will be in the Dowville cemetery.

North Lake, Nov. 26, 1914 - A pretty home wedding took place on Wednesday, 18th inst., at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S.A. Collier, Fosterville, when their eldest daughter, Elthea (sic) was united in marriage to Everett Farrell. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Thos. McDonald in the presence of a vast number of relatives and invited guests. The bride looked charming in a dress of blue silk with lace trimming in white. After best wishes were extended to the newly wedded couple the guests preceded by the bride and groom were seated at the tastefully arranged tea tables. The presents, which were costly and numerous, consisting of silver, cut glass, linen and money, testified to the esteem in which the young couple are held. Mr. and Mrs. Farrell will reside at North Lake.

The passing of Avis Thelma (Collier) Henry, wife of the late Lloyd G. Henry, of Fredericton, NB, occurred on February 27th, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on December 29th, 1925 in Fosterville, NB, she was a daughter of the late Hazen and Hazel (McNerlin) Collier. Avis retired as owner of the Buy & Sell Catalogue. She was a member of Maryville United Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Judith Stuart (John) of Miramichi; two grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Spinney and Elva Thompkins both of Fredericton; two brothers, Thomas (Gladys) and Samuel (Deloris) Collier all of Fosterville; sister-in-law, Leona Collier and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by one daughter, Suzanne; one brother, Lester and brother-in-law, Ashley Thompkins. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, February 29, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Tompkins, announce her peaceful passing at Pine Grove Nursing Home, Fredericton on Friday, January 17, 2014 at the age of 89.Born June 18, 1924 in Fosterville, NB, Elva was a daughter of the late Hazen and Hazel (McNerlin) Collier. She was a faithful and dedicated member of Journey Wesleyan Church, Fredericton and her church family was an important part of her life. During her working years, Elva was employed at City Motel as a Desk Clerk and she also worked at Zellers and K-Mart, where she made many lasting and treasured friendships.Elva loved and was dearly loved by her family and she will be greatly missed by her daughter Candyce Johnson of Fredericton, her son Lloyd (Marie) of Hanwell and daughter-in-law, Elaine Tompkins of Upper Kingsclear. She was continually delighted by her grandchildren, Tony, Glenwood, Troy, Ricky and Rourke Tompkins, Marc and Shawn Johnson who always held a special place in her heart as did her 15 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. Her brothers, Tom Collier (Gladys) and Sam Collier (Delores) both of Fosterville will forever cherish the memory of their beloved sister.
