MacKINNEY, PATRICIA MARIE - The passing of Patricia "Pat"¯ Marie (Howe) MacKinney of Fredericton, NB, wife of the late Robert MacKinney, occurred on Monday, July 18, 2011 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton, NB. Born on January 17, 1918 in Fosterville, NB, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Clare Howe. Pat was a member of Wilmot United Church. She worked in retail ladies fashions. Pat is survived by her son, Herschel McKinney (Mary) of Fredericton, NB; several grandchildren; two great grandsons; one great granddaughter; sister, Gwen Blackie (John) of Fredericton, NB; son-in-law, Phil Barton of Fredericton, NB; daughters-in-law, Genevieve MacKinney of Moncton, NB and Joyce MacKinney of Saint John, NB; several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Glenda Barton; sons, Warner and Robert Jr. and brother, Herbert Howe.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Friday, July 22, 2011 at 11 am with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Died At North Lake [1948} A wide circle of relatives and friends will learn with regret of the death of Mrs Susie Lutz, widow of Peter C. Lutz, which occurred at the home of her daughter, Mrs G. Veysey, on December 10, following a short illness, at the age of 74 years.
Mrs Lutz was the daughter of the late Stephen and Elmira (Wood) Howe, and was born at North Lake. She was a member of the United Baptist Church, a good neighbor and kind friend, and she leaves to mourn four daughters, Mrs Enock Peck (Ella), Bear River, N.S.; Mrs Geo. Veysey (Nettie), North Lake; Mrs Earl Atkinson (Lottie), North Lake; and Mrs Orrin Dickinson, Danforth, Me.; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held at the home of her daughter on Sunday, December 12, conducted by Rev. R. Thompson, Danforth, Me., with the choir singing two favorite hymns, My Saviour First of All, and It Is Well with My Soul, and a solo, Beyond the Sunset, by Rev. Mr Thompson. The pallbearers were Arlie Boone, Elias Foster, Alton Wood and Sedences Wood. Interment was in the Lower Cemetery at Fosterville. The floral tributes were beautiful.

Lois P. (Huntley) Boone, 96, was welcomed at Heaven's gates by her Savior on February 28, 2015, after an extended stay at Bangor Nursing and Rehab. Center. She was born June 9, 1918, in Machiasport, the daughter of Earl and Agnes (Ackley) Huntley.
Lois grew up in the Holmes Bay area and graduated from Washington Academy in East Machias. After marrying Eldon John Boone on May 11, 1942, she became a devoted wife and mother of six children. As the wife of a Baptist minister, she and her husband served in pastorates in New Brunswick, Maine and Connecticut. They also served as missionaries in Alaska and at the Springfield Rescue Mission in Massachusetts. After retiring from the East Holden Community Church, Lois and Rev. Boone moved to Dixmont. Lois was active in the Women's Christian Temperance Union, volunteered at the Hospital Chaplaincy and did volunteer work at the Dixmont Town Office. She was always ready to bake treats for any occasion. Recently, Lois was awarded the Boston Post Cane recognizing her as the oldest citizen of Dixmont.
Lois was predeceased by her parents, Earl and Agnes Huntley; her brothers, Eldred and infant brother Elwin; her husband, Rev. E. John Boone; her son, James Boone; and grandson, David Boone. She is survived by her daughters, Jane Sturk and her husband, Dale, and Marilyn Stevens and her husband, Leonard, all of Oakland; her sons, John Boone and his wife, Elsie, of Levant, Peter Boone and his wife, Joan, of Diboll, TX, and the Rev. Timothy Boone and his wife, Brenda, of Dixmont, with a special thank you for all the care they have given her. She was a special grandmother to Barry Sturk, Shawn, Scott and Corey Stevens, Kenneth, Russell "Rusty" Boone and Karen (Boone) Hendsbee and Thomas, Samuel, Carl Edward "Eddie" and Rebekah Sue Boone. Lois was also a great-grandmother to twelve great-grandchildren, and had numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the Bangor Nursing and Rehab. Center Staff and to Carol Reinfelds, who previously cared for Lois at her home.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015, at East Dixmont Community Church, 34 Church Hill Road, Dixmont, with her son, the Rev. Timothy Boone officiating.

Albright"”Ivey [1947] A pretty wedding of interest to many friends and relatives was solemnized on Thursday, June 19, at the United Baptist Parsonage, Woodstock, when the Rev. Myron O. Brinton united in marriage Helen Mae, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew Ivey, Woodstock and Lorne Hilton, son of Mr and Mrs Aubrey Albright of Hartland.
The bride was very attractive in a street length dress of blue jersey with white accessories. She carried a bouquet of American Beauty roses.
The bride was attended by a friend, Miss Gwendolyn Guy of Woodstock, who wore a dress of pink jersey with white accessories. She carried a bouquet of pink roses.
The groom was supported by his brother, Dalton Albright.
Immediately following the the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of Mr and Mrs Chester Ivey, brother of the bride with about forty guests present. The dining table was covered with a white linen cloth centred with a three-tier wedding cake surmounted by a miniature bride and groom, and flanked by pink candles in crystal holders. The dining room was decorated with pink and white streamers and summer flowers. After the reception the happy couple left amid showers of confetti on a motor trip to various parts of Maine and Boston, Mass. For travelling the bride wore a blue suit with white accessories. On their return they will reside in Hartland where the groom is engaged in farming.
Many very nice wedding gifts were received including cheques, linen, blankets, china and silver. Mrs Merrill Ivey was hostess at a shower for the bride previous to her marriage when many fine gifts were received.

April 4, 1945 - The death occurred at Johnson Settlement at an early hour this morning of Elijah Johnson, after two years of ill health, at the age of 78 years. He was born at Canterbury, the son of the late John William and Ruth Johnson, and carried on farming. He was well known in the community in which he lived and his death will be regretted.
He is survived by his wife, six sons, Carl and David, Canterbury; Samuel, at home; Lee, Saint John; Mark, of Claredon; and Douglas, overseas; six daughters, Mrs. Jennie MacDonald and Ruby Johnson, at home; Mrs. Bruce Grant, Canterbury; Mrs. Reginald Yerxa, Lower Woodstock; Mrs. George Crompton, Mrs. Richard Williams, St. Stephen; two brothers, Asa Johnson, and Fred Johnson, Canterbury; four sisters, Mrs. Martha Wright, Canterbury; Mrs. George Grant, Woodstock; Mrs. Olive Linney, Mass.; Mrs. Elmer Dow, Pittsfield, Me.; and 22 grandchildren.
The funeral takes place on Friday afternoon, with service at his late home at two o'clock by Rev. M.O. Brinton and interment in the Dowville Cemetery.

Our mom, Ellen Buckingham, went home to be with the Lord on December 16, 2022. She was born October 16, 1936, at her family homestead in Upper Skiff Lake, to parents David and Glenna (Lutwick) Johnson.Being raised on a farm with many siblings, she learned from an early age the value of good work ethics. She was privileged to walk to school, arriving earlier than the other students, so she could get the fire going in the wood stove. She married our dad, Arden Buckingham, in 1955, and they moved to Fredericton in 1957, where they raised their four busy, hockey loving boys.Mom was a treasured sister, mother, grammie, cousin, aunt and friend. She was a hard worker, an amateur photographer, a family reunion planner, a faithful protestor (along with Myrna) over the closing of her beloved Sears and a lover of old fashion preaching and the old hymns.Mom had her list of favourites. Number one would be her four boys. They could do little wrong, if any, and her daughters-in-law learned not to challenge this motherly assessment. In so doing, we all got along quite well. Her adored grandchildren all managed to inherit this unique, near-perfect gene.A close second favourite was her beloved cottage on Carr's Cove, East Grand Lake. She could sit on the deck for hours with her knitting work and a book. Her grandchildren and other Carr's Cove tag-alongs learned that she and Prudy could be counted on for cookies and hugs. Mom's massive cookie jar took up half the small counter space.Mom did her best with life's challenges, and we loved her for it. She ensured that her sons, then their wives, then her grandchildren, then her great-grandchildren, were supplied with quilts, sweaters, socks, mitts, and scarfs. She was thrilled when the granddaughters started appearing so she could do some serious business with pink yarn. Her hands were seldom idle.Mom worked many years at York Manor, providing care to those in their final years. Mom's final two years were spent at Carleton Manor when Alzheimer's disease took its mean grip. The Bible tells us that our lives are a vapor, that appeareth for a little time and then vanisheth away; and we are to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.Mom is survived by her sons, Philip (Kaye), Allison (Chery), Kevin, and Lorne (Cyndy); grandchildren Jodi, John (Sonya), Ronnie (Melissa), Lori (Donnie), Erin, Rachel (Andrew), Joel (Holly), Vince, Jesse (Charito), Jessica (Corey) and Chelsea (Malcolm); several great-grandchildren; her siblings, Curtis Johnson (Sharon), Sheldon Johnson (Sheila), and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Johnson; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by dear friends, Myrna and Wilma.In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Arden C. Music was supplied by the congregation with Holly Buckingham as pianist and great grandchildren Emilyn and Wesley leading. Emilyn and her grandfather also sang together following family remembrances by Allison. A reception took place in the funeral home dining room. The deaths of Theodore Harold "Ted"¯ Jones and his wife, Anita Joanne (Boone) Jones, long-time residents of Fredericton, occurred at their home on September 9, 2023.Born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, on March 11, 1939, Ted was the son of the late Harold and Lois (Malloy) Jones. He is survived by one son, Adam Welsey Jones (and his life partner, Amber Richards) of Moncton, and by his beloved grandson, Daniel Allan Jones (and his mother, Natalie), of Fredericton. Also surviving are his two sisters-in-law, Beverly Colpitts (Charles) of Ottawa and their children, Jeffrey Colpitts (Rongs) and Laura Burns (Craig), Marilyn Noble (Bruce) of Fredericton and their children, Edward Noble (Peggy) and Robert Noble (and his friend Kitty Reid); three nephews, and three first-cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Victoria Frances Jones, two aunts, two uncles, and his four grandparents.Ted was raised in McAdam, New Brunswick, where he graduated from McAdam High School in 1957. He went to the Provincial Teachers' College in Fredericton and then to the University of New Brunswick, from where he received his B.A. and M.B.A. degrees, his thesis for the latter being a biography of the American author Willa Cather. His teaching career began at Stanley Regional High School for one year, and then Albert Street Junior High School in Fredericton for five years. He taught in New Brunswick schools for 35 years, retiring from the English Department at Fredericton High School in 1993. Over the years he enjoyed historical research and non-fiction writing. His publications include a biography of Canadian author H.A. Cody (All the Days of His Life, published by the New Brunswick Museum), Bryan Priestman (a biographical sketch, published by UNB), Both Sides of the Wire (a two-volume history of the Fredericton Internment Camp, published by New Ireland Press, of which volume one was made into a documentary film for television); numerous articles for The Atlantic Advocate and The New Brunswick Magazine, various newspapers, and educational publications.Since retirement, he served as a director on three local museum boards: York-Sunbury, School Days, and the Internment Camp. For three years in the mid-1990's, he was the editor and a regular contributor to The Officers' Quarterly, the official publication of the York-Sunbury Historical Society in Fredericton, subsequently receiving from the New Brunswick Museums Association a significant achievement award for writing in the heritage field.For six years (2000-2005), he wrote a regular column for The Daily Gleaner, entitled "Fredericton Flashback"¯ (155 articles). In the fall of 2003, Nimbus Publishing of Halifax published Fredericton Flashback, a book collection of 50 of his articles from The Gleaner column When the Formac Publishing Company republished the H.A. Cody novel Under Sealed Orders in 2014, Ted wrote the introduction.In the fall of 2002, Nimbus Publishing of Halifax released Fredericton and Its People, a book he co-authored with his wife. In the fall of 2007, Nimbus published Historic Fredericton North, also co-authored with his wife, Anita. As a result of these two projects, Ted and Anita won the Fredericton Heritage Trust award for 2006 for research and writing. Also in the fall of 2007, Ted was chosen to receive the Heritage Canada Foundation's 2007 Journalism Prize, which was awarded in a special ceremony at historic Government House in Edmonton, Alberta, and presented by Lieutenant-Governor Norman Kwong. At the time of his death, Ted was working on a definitive history of the Provincial Normal School (PNS) of New Brunswick. His vast collection of PNS files, along with all his other research files, photographs, and manuscripts, will be presented to the Provincial Archives of New Brunswick (PANB).Arrangements have been entrusted to McAdam's Funeral Home, 160 York Street. Fredrick Allen Kennedy (Fred), 89, of Willington, CT, joined his wife Agnes in Heaven on Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Woodlake at Tolland Health Center, surrounded by his children and grandchildren. Fred was born on February 13, 1925, in Limestone, New Brunswick, Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Maude (Benn) Kennedy; and seven siblings, Benn, Johnny, Charlie, Walter, Thomas Reid, Ethel and Laura.
On November 4, 1954, Fred married his beautiful bride Agnes McGann who remained by his side until her death in July 2013. Fred is survived by his five children, Debbie, Bonnie, Jerry, Margaret, Michael and their spouses, David Poharski, Betsy Buerk-Kennedy, Normand Roy Jr. and Emily Marques-Kennedy. Fred was "Grampie" to sixteen grandchildren, Alicia, Matthew, Megan, Will, Robert III, Lindsey, Normand III, Danielle, Brandon, Ashley, Taylor R., April, Taylor L., Madison, Sadie and Mikey; as well as five great-grandchildren, Oliver, Elijah, Riley, Chase and Landon.
Fred worked the Kennedy family farm in Limestone as well as in the woods as a lumberjack until moving his family to the United States in 1964. He worked for the Connecticut Laborers Union until his semi-retirement in June of 1990, when he became a part-time crew member at the Village Springs Water Company in Willington, CT. He continued to visit the bottling plant, where he had made many friends up until his death. Fred loved to grow flowers and vegetables and was very generous with his harvest. He and his wife loved to pack up the camper and their five children during their younger years to vacation back home in New Brunswick to visit with family and friends. Later in life they continued to find joy in dancing, picking fiddleheads, canning or spending an afternoon at the casino. For his family, Fred was a rock, their safety and their comfort, their humor and patience. Fred was never further than a telephone call away to rescue friends or family members from any situation. He taught us all to give and to take joy in giving. His generous spirit will live on in each person he touched, but especially his loving family. Calling hours to celebrate Fred's life will be held on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 6-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. His funeral service will take place on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 10 A.M. at the funeral home, with burial to follow in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT. April 13, 1922 - The will of the late John Kennedy, who died at North Lake on February 22nd, was probated yesterday before Judge of Probate, P.J. Hughes. William L. Kennedy, a son, and J. Leslie Kennedy, a nephew, having applied for letters testamentary. The estate is valued at $44,500, of which $4,500 is in real and $40,000 personal, and to dispose of as follows: To his four sons, Thomas J., William, Ernest and David Kennedy, $1,500 each.
To his daughter, Susan, $2,000; to his daughters, Ida and Laura, $1,000 each; to the trustees of the Presbyterian church at Kirkland for improvements, $500.
The residue of the estate after these bequests have been made is to be divided equally between the sons and daughters.
The widow of the deceased was not mentioned in the will, Mr. Kennedy having settled an annuity of $1,500 on her before he died.
