Ruby Faye Derrick Ruby F. Derrick passed away at her home in Woodstock, NB on November 1, 2012 at the age of 93 years. Born at Canterbury, NB in 1919, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Alma (Smith) Graham. Ruby enjoyed crocheting, sewing, cooking and especially knitting for her children, grandchildren and Cottage Craft in St. Andrews. She spent her earlier years working on their farm with her family and later helping her husband run their store in Canterbury. HOULTON - Ruby L. Murchie, 99, died Sept. 29, 2007, at a local health care facility. She was born Dec. 19, 1907, in Canada, the daughter of Daniel and Eva (Russell) Graham. Ruby was a member of Cary Baptist Church and Houlton VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Harley Murchie and his wife, Joyce, of Lincoln; a granddaughter, Ann Thornton and her husband, Tim; great-grand-daughters, Rebecca and Lindsay, all of Hampden; several nieces and nephews. The family extends their gratitude to management and staff at the Lodge as well as to the medical staff in 4SW at the DECH.Visitation was held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Monday, February 20, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 12:30 until 2 p.m. when the funeral service was held with Rev. Greg Williams officiating. A eulogy was delivered by Sherrill"s sister Raelene. The Twenty-Third Psalm was read by Sherrill's daughter-in-law, Maria.

We are saddened to announce that Wayne Robert Graham passed away on October 13, 2024 at Neil Hall, Fredericton, New Brunswick. He passed away peacefully, surrounded by family. Wayne was born on March 23, 1943 to Harold and Grace (Greer) in Eel River Lake, NB. Wayne will be sadly missed by his wife, Constance "Connie" (Keary) Graham; son, Andrew (Lisa); daughter, Karen Levesque (Andre); grandchildren, Drew Graham (Jamie), Olivia Gee (Garret), Grace Graham (Joey), Leah Levesque, Julia Levesque (Jarret); great-grandchildren, Arthur and Sterling Gee; sisters, Raelene Theriault (Raoul), Cecily Fredericks (Reginald); sisters-in-law, Sylvia Graham, Lorraine Graham, Patricia "Patsy" Keary, Dorothy Kenny, Mary Keary (Al), Louella Doyle; brothers-in-law, Tom Kinney, Charles Keary, Robert Keary, and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by eight of his siblings: Joyce, Lona, Larry, Dennis, Keith, Marie, Sherrill, and most recently, Glen.Wayne grew up on the family farm where he started his day milking cows and doing farm chores before walking to school. It was here that Wayne developed a strong work ethic at a young age which served him well throughout life. He was a career businessman involved in land development, construction, buying and selling, but known most for his highway striping business, Maritime Pavement Markings, which he owned and operated for almost 30 years. He painted lines on the highways and roads in every part of the province, although his favourite contract was striping the roads of Gros Morne National Park in Newfoundland. Wayne was called on after he had retired and sold the business to run the highway striper to paint the first lines on the new Confederation Bridge to PEI before it opened in 1997.
Wayne's favorite pastime was the time that he spent with his family and grandchildren, all of whom he loved dearly. He enjoyed many years of summer living at the family cottage at First Eel Lake where he hosted annual barbeques and gatherings. He loved to water ski and teach the kids the same. We would often have a lineup of kids on our shore waiting for a turn to ski a loop around the lake. He loved to travel around the woods in the fall while hosting his family and friends during hunting season where he enjoyed preparing his famous hunter's breakfast and venison dinners. He and Connie spent a part of every winter walking the beaches of Hawaii, his favourite vacation spot. He curled many years curling at the Capital Winter Club where he was an avid volunteer, and hosted several bonspiels in support of Cystic Fibrosis. He had a passion for horses and harness racing where he volunteered and partnered with ownership of several standard bred and could often be found on his sulky circling the track at the Fredericton Raceway. Wayne spent the latter part of life attending functions and sporting events to support and cheer on his grandchildren. He spent his last few years at Neil Hall where he developed special bonds with the other residents and staff. He would have been one of the longest living residents of the Nasis wing.All that knew Wayne would attest to his love of life, conversation, dancing, generosity and his huge personality. He was one of a kind and will be sadly missed. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel in Fredericton, NB, beginning at 2pm, with Fr. John Jennings officiating.

Winona was born on October 24, 1931, to the late Melzie and Marguerite (Dunphy) Graham at Island Falls, Maine.Winona is survived by her children, Steven Hawkes (Verna), Debbie Turner (David), and Lisa McCutcheon (Joe); eleven grandchildren, Darren Hawkes (Kim), Angela Hawkes-Graham (Lance), Mark Morgan (Stephanie), Jamie Grant (Jennifer), Jennifer Grant (Don), Christina LeGassie (Chris), Leslie Hawkes (William), Danny Hawkes (Vicky), Ashley Pow (Scott), Aimee Risser (Nick), Stephanie Turner (Nick); twenty-five great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren to be; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Besides her parents, Winona is predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Hawkes and partner Winston Bull; brother, Paul Graham, sister-in-law Doris Graham, sons, Michael and James Hawkes; daughters, Joanne Grant and Kathy LeGassie; by grandchild, Sheri Little; and great grandchildren, Tom Morgan and Kyle Grant, and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.Winona grew up in Forest City, NB. She graduated from Canterbury High School in 1949 and was married the same year to Kenneth Hawkes. For a short time, she taught at a one-room school house in Forest City, NB and then worked part-time at Wheaton's Sporting Lodge, Forest City, Maine. For a number of years Winona lived with her family at Graham Corner in the North Lake area.Over her working career, which began at an early age, she raised seven children; and for a time, on her own. Eventually, Winona moved to Woodstock where she worked at the Carleton Memorial Hospital from 1969 until she retired in 1994. During her employ there, she advanced to the position of Lab Technician Assistant. Upon retirement, she volunteered at the local Food Bank for several years.Over and above her work, Winona's utmost passion and purpose in life was her love and dedication to her family, especially during her years of grandmotherhood when she had more opportunity to pamper and spoil them. She demonstrated it in many ways, often through her delicious home-cooked meals, her handmade crafts, her time spent with the grandchildren, her lively spirit and laughter that filled a room, and her big hugs and beaming smiles that made you feel so special. Winona loved animals too and her dogs held a special place in her heart. Her loyal companion, Sophia, stayed faithfully by her side at all times and especially during her sickness at home. The family wishes to thank the medical staff at the Upper River Valley Hospital for all their great care and attention to Winona during her stay at the hospital. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Woodstock Rural Cemetery at 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dunroamin' Stray and Rescue Animal Shelter in Carleton County.

June 28, 1951 - A Canterbury resident, Mrs. Carl Johnson, died at the Victoria Public Hospital at the age of 45. She had been in ill health for some time but had been confined to hospital for only a week. She was a member of the L.O.B.A. and the Primitive Baptist church, both of Canterbury. She was born at Canterbury, a daughter of the late Herbert and Lavina Grant.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Johnson, two sons, Herbert and Floyd, Canterbury; four brothers, Guy, Harold and James, all of Canterbury; and three sisters, Mrs. Simon Bair, Mrs. Melton Wright, and Mrs. Edna Wright, also of Canterbury.
The funeral was held with prayers at the residence followed by service at the Primitive Baptist church by Rev. A.A. Hatfield. Interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Wedding Clarke - Greer The Baptist Church of Bath was the scene of a quiet wedding on December 27, when the Rev. Mr Gibson united in marriage, Miss Betty Louise Greer, daughter of Mr and Mrs Alan Greer of Fosterville and Mr Clarke, son of Mr William Clarke of Holmesville.
The bride wore a navy blue tailored suit and matching hat and accessories. Her corsage was of red roses.
Her attendant, Miss Marietta Clarke, sister of the groom, wore a grey suit with matching accessories. The best man was Edward Clarke, brother of the groom.
The reception was held in the Holmesville Hall to the immediate families. On Dec 29, a shower and charivari was tendered them at her parents home, Mr and Mrs Alan Greer, where they received many useful and beautiful gifts. They will reside in Hartland where the groom is employed as a carpenter.

Fosterville, [1958] A quiet, but pretty wedding was solemnized in the United Baptist parsonage, Woodstock, when Rev. G.C. Vincent united in marriage, Ruth Velma, daughter of Mr and Mrs Allan Greer, Green Mountain, and LeRoy Avril Davenport, son of Mr and Mrs Marshall Budrow of Upper Kent.
The couple were attended by Mr and Mrs Frank Boone, sister and brother-in-law of the bride.
The bride looked charming in a pale blue suit, slue hat and accessories, and a corsage of yellow carnations.

Born on March 4, 1913 in Burtt"s Corner, NB, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Annie (Crandall) Griffiths. Frances was a retired school teacher. She was a member of the Keswick United Baptist Church, life member of the Women"s Missionary Society, member of the Happy Time Senior Group of Keswick, the Central NB Retired Teacher and Central NB Welsh Societies. Frances is survived by one son, Lorne Home of Fosterville; daughter-in-law, Lorraine Home of Burtt"s Corner; six grandchildren, Kevin (Elaine), Dana (Mary), Colleen MacQuarrie (Dean), Sandra (Allan), Terry, Shelly (Leverne) Donahue; six great grandchildren, Zakery and Noah, Tyler and Bradley, Stuart, and Katie Joy; three sisters-in-law, Nina Griffiths of Burtt's Corner, Marie Griffiths of Olds, AB and Reta Leaman of Woodstock and several nieces and nephews. Stetson, ME -- Nov 4, 1963 -- Harold Havelock Boone, 68, died at his home here Saturday night after a long illness.
He was born at Bailley, NB March 16, 1895, son of Walter and Katherine (Scott) Boone.
Mr. Boone attended schools in McAdam and Houlton. He had been an inspector for the Canadian Pacific Railway for 45 years.
In 1930 he married Matilda Fletcher at Calais. The couple lived at Vanceboro and Brownsville Junction before coming to Stetson eight years ago.
Surviving are his widow; one daughter, Janet S. Boone, bothe of Stetson; one brother, Walter Boone, of McAdam, NB; three sisters, Mrs Frank Perley and Mrs. Edison Hagerty of Hagerty"s Cove, NB; and Mrs. MoseDieptro of Portland; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and cousins.Funeral services will be held at the Farnham Funeral Home, at Corina Tuesday at 1 p.m., Rev. Raymond Grossman officiating. Interment will be in Clark Hill Cemetery, Stetson.
