The death of Neil Boone of the Victoria Glen Manor and formerly of Rowena occurred on February 20, 2007 at the Victoria Glen Manor at the age of 95. Born in Plaster Rock he was the son of the late Leo and Emily Boone. He is survived by his wife Hazel Boone of the Victoria Glen Manor; four sons Richard (Peggy) Boone, Robert (Joyce) Boone and Donald Boone all of Perth-Andover and Archie (Jackie) Boone of Kilburn; two daughters Arlene (Alton) Walker of Tinker and Carolyn (Hazen) McNally of Currie Rd.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; one brother Jimmy Boone. Predeceased by his parents, son Raymond, brothers Marshall and Hubert and sister Clara. Resting at the Wesleyan Church, Perth-Andover with visiting hours on Thursday February 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Ollie Irvin Boone passed away peacefully at his home on December 14, 2023.Ollie was born in Woodstock NB on October 20, 1945. Daily Gleaner, February 18, 1901 A Missoula, Montana, paper just received conveys intelligence of the death of a former Gibson man. It says: Oscar Boone, age 43 years, who for more than ten years past, has been a resident of Missoula, where he worked as a carpenter, died at his home in the Rattlesnake District on Feb. 9th, after an illness of several weeks, which commenced in an attack of grip and developed into Bright's disease.
Mr. Boone was a man for whom all had a good word with whom he came in contact. His work has been mostly with the Northern Pacific Railway Co., where was employed as a bridge carpenter. He leaves a widow and a 17-year-old son to mourn their loss.
The funeral will be conducted from the family residence at 3 o'clock this afternoon under the auspices of the Independent Order of Foresters, with which the deceased was a member in good standing. The religious service will be conducted by Rev. F.J. Salsman of the Baptist church.
[The late Mr. Boone was a brother of Mr. Albert Boone and also of Mrs. Whitman Brewer (Sarah) of St. Mary's, and of Mrs. W.H. Butler of Gibson, and his aged mother also survives and resides with her daughter, Mrs. Brewer. Before going to Montana he was employed in the McFarlane factory at St. Mary's and he leaves many friends in this city who learn of his death with deepest regret.] 

BOONE, RAYMOND - The death of Raymond Boone of Red Rapids occurred on April 8, 2006 at his residence at the age of 74. Born in Rowena, he was the son of Neil and Hazel Boone. Raymond L. Boone of Harvey Station went to be with his Lord on January 27, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Dorn Ridge, NB on September 16, 1927, he was a son of the late Byron and Mabel (Haines) Boone. Ray was an active Deacon at Harvey Baptist Church. Along with his wife, Ray served his Lord in Prison Ministry for the Shantymen's Christian Association for fifteen years. He was widely known for his talent and craftsmanship in building beverage can airplanes. Ray loved life and people. Richard L. Boone Jr. died peacefully June 19, 2010, at a Howland nursing home facility. He was born May 28, 1930, in Presque Isle, the son of Richard and Hope Higgins Boone, and was raised in Dover-Foxcroft. He married Frances MacDonald of Brownville Junction in 1950 and together they raised six children. They shared 53 years together until her passing, March 26, 2003. He worked many years in the tire industry and retired from O&R Lumbra Lumber Mill after many years. He was predeceased by his wife; parents; a son, Joel Boone Sr.; and a grandson, Todd Douglas. He is survived by five children and their spouses, Richard III and wife, Cynthia, of Wytopitlock, Patsy and husband, Alan, of Levant, Daniel and wife, Linda, of Bangor, Louie and wife, Christel, of Brewer and Jeanne and husband, Rick Clement, of Corinth; 16 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Clarice Call and Judith Alexa, of Dover-Foxcroft, Joan Zikorus of Canaan and Sheila Lyons of Masardis; three brothers, Roger of Stetson, and Bert and William, of Dover-Foxcroft; sister-in-law, Nora Gidney of North Vasselboro; many nieces and nephews. BOONE, ROBERTA ANN (BIRDIE) (THE BIRD) On June 10, 2009, Robert Ann Boone passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born February 21, 1963 in Edmonton, Alberta and raised in Fredericton, NB. Birdie loved fishing, camping, the great outdoors and photography. Birdie is survived by her son Nigel Boone of Victoria, BC; her mother Mary Christine Boone (Gabriel) of St. Mary's First Nation, Fredericton; her brothers Roger Boone of Abbottsford, BC, Harold Gabriel of Tracy, NB and her brother and friend Sye Gabriel of Calgary, Alberta; one uncle Tony Gabriel (Cindy) of St. Mary's First Nation, Fredericton; several aunts and uncles. Birdie had one God-Child Brett Leon; her special cousins Lorie Leon, Jackie Lola and Lorie Keezer; her best friends Mary Paul and Brenda Campbell; also her cat Bugsy. An interesting event took place in Marysville on the evening of Oct. 21st, the celebration of the wedding of Mr. Roderick Boone, of St. Mary's, and Miss Martha Titus of Marysville. The marriage ceremony was performed at the residence of the bride's father by Rev. J.E. Reud, pastor of the Marysville Free Baptist church. The St. Mary's Fire Brigade, of which the groom is a prominent member, held a torchlight procession accompanied by the 71st Battalion band, of which the groom is also a member, in the town in honor of the event, and also presented the bride with a couple of very elegant and costly presents.

Roger Rufus Boone, 80, has left this old world to go home to be with his son and parents. Roger was born in Easton, November 29, 1933, a son of Richard and Hope (Higgins) Boone, Sr.
Roger grew up on the family farm on Weston Road in Dover-Foxcroft. He loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours fishing the brooks and hunting the fields and woods of the old farm. He graduated from Foxcroft Academy and worked at P. E. Ward Co. for several years, and later, A. E. Robinson Oil Co. Through these jobs he met many people and made a lot of friends throughout the Dover area. He later worked at Charleston Correctional Center, from which he retired in 1992.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie (Macdonald) Boone, and his daughter, Jessica Faye Boone, both of Stetson; his stepson, Joshua Gellerson of Corinth; and grandson, Bert Boone of Guilford; 2 brothers, Bert Boone and wife, Joeene, Bill Boone and wife, Charlotte of Dover-Foxcroft; 3 sisters, Clarice Sloat Call of East Dover; Joan Hall Zikorus of Pittsfield; and Sheila "Sal" Lyons and husband, Jon of Masardis. He was predeceased by a son, Jeffery Allen Boone, his parents; his brother, Richard Leon Boone, Jr., and sister, Judith Boone Alexa.

CARIBOU and HOULTON - Dr. Roy G. Boone, DMD, 81, died Dec. 23, 2003, at a local healthcare facility following a brief illness. He was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Caribou, the son of Ralph and Eleanor (Gaynor) Boone. Roy served in the U.S. Army during World War II, then practiced dentistry in Caribou until his retirement in 1984. He was a lover of animals and an avid horseman raising and training Arabian horses. He leaves his family, Judith (Holt) Boone; a son, John R. Boone and his wife, Beth; a daughter, Elizabeth Coville and her husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Catherine, Daniel, Michael and Meg; sisters, Joy L. The death of Rupert Charles Boone of Estey's Bridge, husband of Helena "Lena" I. (Seymour) Boone occurred on Wednesday, September 18, 2002 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, Fredericton.
Born in Lauvina (Geary), NB, he was the son of the late Fred George and Frances M. (Howe) Boone. Mr. Boone was a member of the Kingsley United Church where he was a past elder, organist and choir director and sang tenor in a quartet at one time. He was an active member of his community taking part in the Senior Citizens (Silver Tops) Kinglsey, NB and a past executive member of the Seymour Memorial Cemetery Committee. Mr. Boone very much enjoyed the great outdoors and playing his violin. Besides his wife of 66 years, he is survived by two sisters, Helen Smith & her husband Bennie of French Lake, NB and Elaine Shanks of Geary; one brother, Donald F. Boone & his wife Grace of Geary; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Although there will be no visitation.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2002 at 2 pm from the Kingsley United Church. Sharing in the service are Rev.

Woodstock, Dec. 5, 1953 - A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnized at the United Church of Canada parsonage, Woodstock, when Rev. J.C. Leadbeater united in marriage Ruth Ethel daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Armour of Eel River Lake and Russell Harry Boone, son of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Boone, of North Lake, N.B. They were attended by Miss Dorothy Smith of Eel River Lake and Gordon Foster of North Lake, N.B.
The bride was becomingly attired in a teal blue suit. Her accessories were black, and she wore a corsage of Pink roses. The bridesmaid was attractive in a wine suit with a corsage of pink roses and black accessories. The bride's mother was dressed in grey crepe. The bridegroom's mother was dressed in navy blue crepe. Following the ceremony the bridal party left for Eel River Lake where a reception was held for the immediate family and friends.
The bride's table was covered with a linen damask cloth centered with a three-tier wedding cake. A buffet lunch was served by Mrs Marvin Foster, sister of the bride, assisted by relatives. The bridal party left following a chiavari for St. Stephen, Sussex, Saint John, and Moncton.
For traveling the bride donned over her suit a grey check coat with black, a small velvet hat, black velvet purse and pumps to match. Her corsage was of pink roses.
The bride has been employed at the Hammond House, Woodstock, N.B., and the bridegroom is engaged in farming with his father.
The happy couple was honored at a shower at Mrs. Waldo Foster's. They received lovely gifts consisting of glassware, silverware, pyrex, linen and a substantial amount of money.

----------------------------------------------------------------- Russell Harvey Boone passed away peacefully at The Briarlee on Tuesday, February 18th, 2014, at the age of 84. Born in Danforth, Maine on September 12th, 1929, he was the son of the late Clarence and Geneva (McMinn) Boone. Russell grew up in Green Mountain, New Brunswick, a place that always remained dear to his heart. Survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth (Armour), son Richard Boone, Moncton, daughters Debra Finigan, (Saint John), Patricia Hatcher (Trent), Riverview, sister Madeline Lanigan, (Goldsboro, North Carolina), brother-in-law Hans Schwerdel and sister-in-law Gladys (Marvin) Foster. Will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by grandchildren; Adam Finigan (Calgary), Julie Hatcher (Riverview), Emily Hatcher (Riverview), great granddaughter Jayla McLeod, as well as several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, Russell was predeceased by in-laws Emery and Evelyn Armour, sisters Elma (John) Graham, Ardis (David) Whitehouse, Lois (James) Daniels, brother Ivan Boone, sisters-in-laws Marjorie (Paul), Farrell and Donna Schwerdel. Russell graduated from The Maritime Forest Ranger School in 1955. He worked for the Dept. of Natural Resourses and Energy until 1964 when he commenced his very satisfying career with Rothesay Paper which later joined with J. D. Irving ltd. In 1970 he became District Superintendent for the Canaan District and worked in this area until his retirement in 1994. Russell's greatest pleasure in his retirement years was watching his grandchildren grow into young adults. He was a faithful attendee at school and sports events, and his smile was happiest when one of his grandkids was by his side.Russell was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Moncton. Russell's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dad's Briarlee family. About all the information available on Samuel is that he was a wool-comber by trade. During the Revolutionary War (1775 - 1783) every hamlet in New England at that time was more or less in distress. Records were a hit and miss effort. In some instances they were deliberately destroyed. Many of the people on the mainland of the colony moved for safety reasons to Newport, Portsmouth, or the Island of Rhode Island, these being the nearest relatively safe places. Other places of refuge included New Amsterdam and Boston. What records remain show that every house in the south county of Rhode Island, save that of Stone Castle belonging to Thomas Greene, was destgroyed by the Indians in the early years leading up to the War of Independence. With all the turmoil in Samuel and Mary's lifetime, it is a wonder they survived, let alone any records.However, Samuel reportedly did leave a will which is recorded in the North Kingstown Town Hall, Wickford, Rhode Island, about six miles south of East Greenwich on the Post Road. The part of the township in which he lived was set off from North Kingstown and incorporated as the Town of Exeter in 1742-43. Samuel's house was destroyed by fire, but the new owner of the propery built on the foundation of the old house. Earlier this past century the property was owned by Fred Downes, a Providence banker.

Although Samuel's early life is unremarkable, later records show he farmed about 600 acres at Exeter, Rhode Island, on which he had a hefty mortgage. He was also active in the Militia. In May, 1745, he was elected Lieutenant of the 3rd North Kingstown Company of Militia, and the following year, elected Captain. However, during the Revolutionary War, Samuel remained a Loyalist which would cost him his farm and ultimately, his country of birth.Rhode Island patriots held little sympathy for supporters of the Crown. Nor did they allow anyone to remain neutral. It was one side or the other so far as they were concerned. Those who did staunchly support either side were in the distinct minority; the majority of people simply wanted to get on with their lives and livlihood. It was not to be. Punishment for Crown sympathizers included the death penalty, but more frequent were the beatings, tar and feathers, and imprisonment. Samuel, too, would suffer for his loyalty.At the State Assembly of Rhode Island in February 1778, the following resolution was presented: Whereas, it is represented to this Assembly that Samuel Boone, William Boone (his son), John Wightman, Ebenezer Slocum, Charles Clocum, and Thomas Cutter, have gone to the Island of Rhode Island and have joined the enemy:- THEREFORE, resolved that if the aforementioned persons have absented themselves, that the Sheriff of the County of Kings County forthwith take possession of their real and personal property in behalf of the State. That their real estate, if any they have, be leased by his Honor, the Deputy Governor, in the manner in which other estates in the possession of the State have been so directed to be leased. And their personal estate be accounted for by the Sheriff with the Assembly One month later, in March, 1778, the Sheriff was ordered to sell Samuel's personal estate. In September, the following year, Samuel's wife, Mary, who heretofore obtained liberty to go to the Island of Rhode Island is also permitted to carry her furniture, etc.
In June, 1780, the State Assembly resolved that:- a tax assessed of £5000: and that five farms seized by the State, their owners having gone over to the enemy, be pledged and funded for the credit and redemption of the above £5000 in bills; -viz- ... (4) State's Farm, in Exeter, Samuel Boone, 600 acres. Further enacted that these farms with appurtenances be sold on or before December 1, 1780, money for which sold paid into gold or silver and no other currency; same to be lodged in the Treasury and any over £5000 ti be at the disposal of the General Assembly.When it came time to sell Samuel's farm, a committee reported that one Stukely Westcott held a mortgage on it for £2600. Westcott, however, conveyed his right to the farm to the State which, in turn, porvided him with a quit-claim deed thus restoring the said land to the mortgage holder.

Daily Gleaner, Feb 16, 1888 A very interesting social event marked the winter serenity of Smith's Corner, Keswick, at an early hour yesterday. The occasion was the marriage of Dr. Sherman W. Boone, of Presque Isle, ME, formerly of Fredericton, to Miss Lizzie Bird, eldest daughter of Coun. Frank Bird. The happy event was celebrated at the residence of the bride's father, the ceremony being performed at 7 o'clock by Rev. Thos. Pierce, the resident Methodist clergyman. The bride was beautifully attired and looked more charming than ever as she appeared at the altar. In accordance with the prevailing custom of the times, the service of attendants was dispensed with. The marriage ceremony was witnessed by a large number of guests, including a number from this city. A special feature of the occasion was the beautiful collection of bridal presents, including a very handsome marble mantle clock, the gift o the University class of '83, of which the groom was a popular member. After the wedding breakfast had been served, the happy couple took their departure for Presque Isle amid a shower of rice, old slippers and good wishes.

The passing of David Ronald Evans, occurred on Monday, January 27, 2025 at Hospice House Fredericton. Ronald was born September 10, 1934 in Cardigan, New Brunswick to Violet and Caleb Evans. He was the beloved husband of Sherrie (Boone) Evans for 67 years (October 5, 1957) and they loved each other and were happily married.
Ronald was a hard worker and started to drive trucks at an early age (12 years old). He worked for Ashley Colter at Diamond Construction and he helped to build the Trans Canada Highway in Newfoundland and the Broad Road in New Brunswick. Ronald and Sherrie worked for Imperial Oil as agents for 50+ years.
Ron learned early on that people could make a difference by helping others in the Community. His love of hockey lead him to volunteering with Minor Hockey as a Coach, Manager, Team Bus Driver and even financial supporter both from his business and personally. This continued to the time of his passing and beyond.
Ron joined the Nashwaaksis Lions Club in 1968. He held many offices, including President. Since 1968 he has had a perfect attendance and he was very proud of this accomplishment. Ron has been awarded the highest award in Lionism “Progressive Melvin Jones Fellowship� along with many other awards.
When Ron was coaching minor hockey, he began to notice that some young people were getting into trouble with drugs and alcohol and he committed himself to do something about it. In 1984 the program “Try Hugs not Drugs� was created. In the first year, Huggy (the Mascot) and the Lions presented to over 20 schools, attending over 120 functions, marched in over 30 parades and reached approximately 600,000 people with their message. The program became world renowned. Ron, however, realized that older youth were often falling through the cracks so Ron and the Lions began to raise money to establish a permanent facility in NB to service the Maritimes. The result was The Portage Atlantic Youth Addictions Centre. Ron was on The Board of Directors and has continued to raise funds. In 2014 Ron received the Portage Atlantic exceptional service award for his work.
Ron's quiet volunteerism was not limited to his work with the Lions Club. He also volunteered at the Community Kitchen, plowing driveways for the elderly, breakfast programs, blood donor clinics and too many other things to mention. He looked for no recognition or payment of any kind. He worked in the shadows happy to know he was helping others.
In 2014 he was nominated by his grandson, Evan and was awarded the Governor General's Caring Canadian Award which was presented to him at Rideau Hall in Ottawa by the Governor General of Canada, David Johnson. This is one of many of the honours he has received through the years. He does not like to boast or advertise his awards, but they are all a reminder of his devotion to his selfless volunteerism Ron's greatest love was Sherrie. His dedication and respect for her continued to the end. He always said he could not have done any of the things he did without her love and help. His family was very important to him as well and he loved the family suppers, birthday parties and just getting together for a snack and talk.

Shirley Gwendolyn Way, 79, wife of the late Frank W. Way, died May 29, 1994, at her Eddington home after a long illness. Gwen was born in North Lake, NB Aug 21, 1914, the daughter of Charles and Pearl (Taylor) Boone.
She was employed for more than 10 years with Dot and Don's Distributers.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Edwina Veillette of Fort Meyers, FL; betty J and Michael Pooler of Bangor; two sons and daughter's-in-law, Stewart C and Arlene Way of Eddington and Sandra Way of Old Town; one sister, Alice Gilpatrick of Danforth; two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law, Marjorie and Hubert Boone of Perth, NB; Ester Leech of BC; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frank W. Way in 1990; a sister Winnifred Smith and a grandson, Timothy Craig.

Terrence "Terry" Galen Boone 1947-2017 Terrence "Terry" Boone age 69, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2017 at the Loch Lomond Village, Saint John, after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born on November 18, 1947 in Houlton, Maine, he was the son of the late Hubert and Marjorie (Way) Boone. In his early years, he lived in various communities along the St. John River Valley.Terry is survived by his son, Bradley Keef Boone; granddaughter, Zoey; nephew, Chris Greer of Owasso, Oklahoma; uncle, Jimmie Boone of Aroostook, NB; as well as many great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and special friends. Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by his dear sister, Sandy Greer and niece, Tami.Terry was employed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) at St. Joseph's Hospital for 17 years. He wrote the curriculum for the RRT program at NBCC, which has been offered through NBCC-SJ since 1989. Terry was the coordinator/instructor until 1994 when he moved to the main NBCC-SJ campus to become the Department Head of Health and Human Development. After serving for 9 months, he became Acting Dean and 14 months later, procured the permanent position of Dean. Terry retired in 1999 due to poor health.Terry was active in the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) since joining in 1966. He was a member of all branches of the Order and served in all elected offices of the Grand Lodge for the Atlantic Provinces, including that of Grand Master. Terry was appointed to the office of Sovereign Grand Marshal of the Sovereign Grand Lodge. He served the Order for 51 years.As per Terry's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private graveside service will take place in Forest City, NB, at a later date. McAdam, NB Nov 7, 1936 - Shot in mistake for a bear, Trueman Boone, aged 28 years, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter H. Boone of McAdam, was instantly killed last evening just after dusk while hunting at Mink Lake, nine miles from this town.
According to police the shot was fired by Arthur Heron, another McAdam resident, who was a member of the party of McAdam people who were hunting. The shot from the rifle struck the victim in the throat and he died instantly.
Dr. R.M. McLean, coroner of McAdam, found that an inquest was unnecessary after investigation which led him to believe the shooting was accidental. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police also investigated the fatality.
In the party were the deceased, Arthur Heron, Mrs. G.H. Narrowmore and her son, sister and nephew of Mr. Boone, and Frank Perley, his brother-in-law. Boone had just finished his lunch when the fatality occurred.
According to information secured here, Frank Perley and Boone had separated from the rest of the party while hunting and just finished their lunch. They had built a fire and Perley was tearing at an old stump for firewood. The other party attracted by the noise mistook the facts of the situation and fired.
Dr. McLean and Constable George Estey were notified and went to the accident in a “speedy� and brought the body to McAdam to the home of the parents. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon with service conducted by rev. Mr. Machum. Interment will be made at McAdam.
The young many was unmarried and was the support of his parents. He was engaged in various labor pursuits about the town. Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. G.H. Narrowmore, McAdam; Mrs. Frank Perley ad Mrs. Edison Haggerity of McAdam; and Ella Boone, nurse-in-training at the Chipman Memorial Hospital in St. Stephen; also two brothers, Harold Boone of Vanceboro, Maine and Walter Boone of McAdam.

Vaughn P. Boone of Prince William, NB passed away December 22, 2018 at Hospice Fredericton. <From the Daily Gleaner, Feb 8, 1979> The death of Warden Boone, of Geary, occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital yesterday. Born at Geary, he was the son of the late Whitman aand Jane (Howe) Boone. He was a member of the baptist church.
He is survived by several nieces and nephews.
The body is resting at the home of Robert Boone, Geary. Funeral service will be held at the Geary Baptist church, Saturday at 2 p.m. with Rev. Donald MacDougall officiating.
Interment will be in Geary cemetery.

There is also a death record for Elinor Marie Boone, daughter of Weyman Boone and Murield Edwards with exact same particulars. Not a twin. Perhaps a change in name in the four days from birth to death.

According to George Hayward in William and Anne (Hayward) and Some of their Descendants, quoting from Allen Boone's family notes, Willard and "Cindy" had no children of their own but raised Robert Carr, son of Vilas Carr. Apparently Vilas died, unmarried, about two weeks after Robert's birth. He went by the name Robert Boone.BOONE, ROBERT CLAUDE - The death of Robert Boone of Geary, NB occurred on September 4th, 2012 at his residence. Born March 3rd, 1916 he was the son of the late Willard and Cindy (Till) Boone and close partner to Ena Carr. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Mabel (Smith) Boone. Robert was a dedicated employee and hard worker at Freeman Smith's Garage, Canadian Tire on Queen Street and was a school bus driver in the old School District 25 serving the Geary area. He was one of the kids' favorite drivers. Robert was an animal lover and could train a dog to do almost anything.

Daily Gleaner, Mar 2, 1914 William H. Boone, 39 years old, and a Bangor & Aroostook freight conductor died at his home here early Saturday as the result of an accident near Fort Kent at 4:10 o'clock Friday afternoon, when he slipped under the car wheels. A special train was at once made up and he was rushed to his home in Houlton where he received skillful medic care. His injuries, however, were so severe there was little hope of his recovery from the first and he died early Saturday.
He leaves a wife and son, both of whom were ill in bend when the news of the accident reached them. Mrs. Boone is just recovering from an operation for appendicitis, and the son is ill with the grip.
It is thought no blame is attached to anyone as Mr. Boone stepped from the wrong end of the train and slipped, falling under the wheels which went over him.

William Lawrence Boone, 78, passed away peacefully in Bangor September 3, 2019, surrounded by loved ones. He was born February 20, 1941, in Dover-Foxcroft, the son of Richard Boone and Hope Higgins Boone.
Bill attended Foxcroft Academy and then joined the U.S. Army. He was proud to say he served and happened to be on the ship with Elvis headed to Germany. He later worked for Agway, Dover Lumber and Guilford of Maine for many years. He then pursued his hobby of building birdhouses and picnic tables.
He touched many lives and made many friends along his journey. To know Bill was to love Bill. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Charlotte Boone; his daughter, Brenda Macomber and her husband, Scott, of Dover-Foxcroft; his son, William Boone and his wife, Emma, of Runcorn, England; step-daughter, Lorraine Robinson and her husband, Barry, of Benedicta; step-son, William Lambert and wife, Reneta, of Brunswick, GA; and step-daughter, Deborah Lambert of Portland. He is also survived by siblings, Clarice Call and Bert Boone, both of Dover-Foxcroft, as well as many special grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his mother, father; and brothers, Richard and Roger Boone; sisters, Judy Alexa, Joan Zikoris, and Sal Lyons.
A funeral service will be held 1:00 pm Saturday, September 7, 2019, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 660 Bangor Road, Dover-Foxcroft. Burial with military honors will be in the family lot in Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft.

The death of William Lloyd Boone of Hanwell, NB, husband of the late Marjorie Ruth (Cameron) Boone occurred on Thursday, September 11, 2003 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Dorn Ridge, NB, he was a son of the late Byron H. and Mabel B. (Haines) Boone. Mr. Boone retired from the Department of Agriculture in 1984. During his last two years with the department, he served as Project Accountant with the Malawi Canada Dairy Project in Africa (1982-1984). He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #4, Fredericton, and was a Veteran of the Second World War. Mr. Boone is survived by two sons, Lloyd George Boone (Ellen) of Hamilton, ON and Kevin Boone (Colleen) of Fredericton; two daughters, Carolyn Alice Pellow (Jim) of Fredericton and Beverly Corrine Boone of Toronto, ON; three step-sons, Michael R. Furlong, Paul R. Furlong (Kay), and James J. Furlong all of Fredericton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; three sisters, Doreen Gould (Bill) of Hanwell, Lila Wilson (Lloyd) of Prince Edward Island and Mary Carr (Milton) of Nevada, USA; three brothers, Raymond Boone (Alice) of Harvey Station, Harold Boone (Shirley) of Comox, BC and Elwood Boone (Joan) of Halifax, NS; several nieces and nephews. Besides his wife and parents, he was predeceased by one great grandchild. [Woodstock, May 27, 1930 - (Special) - William Boone, of Forest City, York County, was killed last evening when a car in which he was driving with Harold Mackey, of the same place, overturned at North Lake and plunged into the water. His companion escaped with a bad shaking up. Boone was pinned under the car and was dead when help arrived. Mackey held the dead man's head above the water at the like for more than an hour in the belief that he was still alive.
Mackey is the mail driver on the Forest City-Canterbury route. He had driven to Canterbury as usual yesterday morning. Boone accompanied him to get some parts for his motorboat. On the return, the steering gear went wrong as the pair were passing North Lake. (Probably just below Emery Armor's, but sounds like at the Thoroughfare) The road at this point crosses a fill with a drop of about eight feet into the outlet to the lake. There is a fence on both sides and the road is fairly wide with gravel on both sides. They were traveling at a rate of almost 25 miles an hour, according to Mackey, who has the reputation of being a careful driver. As nearly as he could tell, the steering gear locked and the car swerved into the gravel. He turned the steering wheel sharply to bring the car back onto the road and it came around at right angles, shot across the road and through the fence at the side and turned over as it struck the water. It came to rest at a spot where the water is about two and a half feet deep.
Boone was caught under the car which was badly smashed in the fall. Mackey, who was not seriously hurt, was able to get hold of the unfortunate man's head and hold it above water. This position he maintained although suffering severely from cold and shock, for more than an hour until residents of the vicinity noticed his plight and came to his assistance.
The car was lifted off Boone and it was found that he was already dead. It was thought at the time that he had been drowned, although later examination proved this theory to be incorrect.
The Provincial Police were summoned from Woodstock and inspected the scene of the accident. They returned this morning accompanied by the coroner, W.A Kennedy, and Dr. J.F. Brown, both of Woodstock. Dr. Brown examined the body and found an extensive injury on the head, apparently caused by a rock at the time of the fall. This is believed to have the cause of death. Examination showed that Mackey, while painfully bruised and shaken, had no serious injury. The coroner decided that no inquest was necessary.
The services for Boone will be held tomorrow at his home. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Boone, and 10 brothers and sisters. He was the first of a family of 11 to die.

Not much is known about Grampa Will's childhood and early life. I did hear the story that when Gramma 'Nora became "in the family way", her father John L Foster sought out 28 year-old Will to learn his intentions toward his seventeen year old daughter. Will figured getting married promised to be a lot less threatening than the business end of the 12 guage shotgun John had cradled under his arm, so without too much delay, he and Gramma scampered across the border to Orient to have the Justice of the Peace perform the honors.During their early years of marriage, they lived in a plain two storey house on a plot of ground provided by John L where Charles Fish Jr now lives. When the house burned in 1912, they moved to the James Crone house (a mile or so south towards Forest City) where they lived until a new house was finished around 1914. A few years later they would buy the Ralph Cosman house where they would live the rest of their lives. Their daughter, Edith and her husband Alton took up residence in the one they just vacated. When Charles Fish Jr bought the property in the 70's he tore the old house down to replace it with a smaller one. The old Cosman house is still standing; at least the main part of the house. The old kitchen and porch have long disappeared, as well as the barn and other outbuildings.On Oct 23, 1916, Will and Nora sold the James Crone place to Aubrey Webber and Silas White of Danforth for $550. Originally the property had been granted to Josiah Vantassel and then conveyed by deed to his sister-in-law, Martha Case Vantassel (Harvey Boone's wife) on Oct 24, 1900. Presumably she sold the property to Will and Nora sometime prior to 1912.One gets the impression Will was not the most industrious resident of the community. He did a bit of farming and woods work, but his working career is notable for its absence. Nor did he have a reputation for being a "hell-raiser", though the story goes that he and my grandfather Ozias Carr had a bit of a kerfluffle and Ozias bit off the top half of Will's ear.According to neighborhood gossip, Will and Nora were well liked in the community with visitors dropping by on a regular basis. They, in turn, visited their neighbors often.Yet, the relationship with his son Basil proved more stormy than with the other children. As the saying goes "they couldn't meet in a ten-acre field without being into a row over something." I never personally knew my grandfather but listening to my father talk about him, I always got the impression that father strove to gain Will's approval without success. Dad's twin sister, Hazel, died when she was one and according to my mother's view of the situation, Will felt Nora neglected Hazel in favor of Dad. Whether that is true; indeed, whether that even had any basis for such an impression, the fact is it may explain the lack of closeness between the two.Without doubt, father like to needle Will. It seems one day they had a heated argument over some forgotten incident. Will stomped off to the barn and dad went in the house to change his clothes before walking out to Fosterville. Will, coming from the barn to the house, saw a young man walking by on the road, waved in return to the young man's greeting of "Hey, Will. Great weather." When Will reached the house, he asked Nora "Who is that walking out the road?" Will didn't always wear his glasses. Nora looked out the window and said, "Why that is Basil." "Shit!" said Will. He was still miffed over the argument.Occasionally, even his daughters gave him a difficult time. Edith had dallied to long one evening and Will decided he had best be going after her. He only snorted when Nora, ever the peacekeeper, suggested restraint. Not much later Will returned, alone and covered in snow. Apparently, Edith somewhat displeased at being followed by her father, picked him up and deposited him in a snowdrift. Edith came home when she was ready but Will thought discretion appealed more than another confrontation.The Daily Gleaner of June 1941 carried this obituary on Will at his passing: Orange circles in the Parish of North Lake, and LOL No 50 in particular, are mourning the passing of Brother William Warden Boone which occurred at the home of his daughter, Hattie Veysey, of Fosterville, NB. The late Brother was born at Fredericton in 1864, coming to North Lake as a young man and soon after became a member of LOL No 50, of which lodge he was an ever faithful member. He held every office in the primrary lodge and was a holder of the 50-year medal.The service was held at the Baptist Church, Fosterville, NB, where Rev Ritchie officiated. The brethren marched to the grave where the burial service was conducted by the Orange Order under the direction of County Master of York West, Eldon Tompkins. The pallbearers were Brothers George Scott, Thomas Derrick, of LOL No 48; Henry Farrell, Ward Foster, of LOL No 50. The Brother leaves to mourn four daughters, three sons and 33 grandchildren.Around 1980 a yellowed brittle and broken document was found during the remodeling of Helen Boone Veysey's (Will's daughter) house. It was Will and Lenora's wedding certificate. The pieces are in my possession (2001).

HOULTON - W. Warden Boone, 85, died May 24, 2006, at a local healthcare facility. He was born Dec. 1, 1920, in North Lake, N.B., Canada, the son of Arlington and Hazel (MacFawn) Boone. Warden was a member of the East Hodgdon Union Church, a member of the Town and Country Senior Citizens Club and a member of the Orangeman's Lodge of Canada. He was the manager of Houlton Motors Sales for more than 25 years and worked at Day's Jewelry Store for five years. Warden is survived by his children, David W. Boone and his wife, Jean, of Phillipsburg, N.J., Barbara Heinselman and her husband, Russ, of Brookline, N.H., Evelyn Jack and her husband, Bill, of Rolling Meadows, Ill., Lois Hartse and her husband, Karl, of Sheridan, Wyo., Helen Cooper and her husband, Dave, of McHenry, Ill., Marjorie Parks and her husband, Tim, of New Gloucester; his grandchildren Kerry Savinsky and her husband, Dave, Stephanie Jones and her husband, Chris, Lauri Ashford and her husband, Josh, Craig Heinselman and his wife, Angel, Andy Jack and his wife, Kathy, Daniel Jack and his wife, Marj, Brian Jack, Erik Hartse, Tavia and Steven Cooper, Mandy and Vicky Parks; his great-grandchildren Alexandria and Christopher Jones, Cheyenne and Cole Heinselman, Ian and Emma Jack; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife, Muriel; his brothers, Arthur and Delbert; and his sister, Mary Herbert. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dunn Funeral Home. [1943] A marriage of interest to many friends and relatives took place yesterday afternoon in the United Baptist parsonage, South Devon, when Rev. A.B. Gibson united in marriage, Miss Doris Irva Boyd, daughter of Mr and Mrs John E Boyd, North Devon, and Norman Gould Higgs, son of Mr and Mrs John Higgs, North Lake. The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore a dress of navy blue crepe, navy and white accessories, and carried a bouquet of American beauty roses, baby breath tied with ribbon. She was attended by her sister, Miss Mary Boyed, who wore rose sheer with navy accessories and carried a colonial bouquet. Frank Worrell was groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the bride's home, the house being decorated with garden flowers. The bride's table was covered with a lace cloth and centered with a three-tier cake surmounted by a miniature bride and groom. Candles were in silver holders and flowrs were placed about the table. Those serving were Miss Lillian Wilson, Mrs Frank Worrell, Mrs Earle Gorman, Mrs John Vezina, Mrs Eldon Cogswell, Mrs James MacNaughton. Later Mr and Mrs Higgs left on a trip, the bride wearing her wedding dress and a polo coat. The will reside at North Lake. The bride attended High and Normal School and taught in different places. Out of town guests were Mr and Mrs Frank Worrell, Mr and Mrs John Higgs, Miss Annie Higgs, North Lake; Mrs John Gorman, Paula and Karl Gorman, MIllville. Many gifts were received by the young couple.

T. Marguerite McLellan of Dow Settlement, NB passed away November 5, 2021 at Carleton Manor in Woodstock, NB. Marguerite was born at Devon, NB in 1927, a daughter of the late John and Laura (Gorman) Boyd. She completed high school to grade twelve and then worked for the Department of Health (Vital Statistics) in Fredericton before her marriage to C. Whitney McLellan on February 16, 1963. Marguerite's hobbies included knitting, crocheting, puzzles, card games, Scrabble, travel, playing the piano and reading. In later years, she enjoyed friends at the seniors groups in Meductic and Canterbury.She is survived by her daughters, Beth Wright (Sterling), Dow Settlement, NB and Doreen McLellan-Savoie (Donald), Fredericton, NB; grandchildren, Becky Love (Steven) and Justin Wright; great grandsons, Declan, Kalen and Hayden and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, Marguerite was predeceased by her sisters, Audrey MacNaughton (late Peter), Irva Higgs (late Norman), Mary Johnson (late Doug) and infant Florence Maria Boyd.Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 from 12 noon until 2 p.m. when the funeral service will be held with Rev. Charles Yerxa officiating. Due to Covid regulations, proof of double vaccination and masks will be required. Interment will follow at the Meductic Lower Cemetery.Pallbearers will be Justin Wright, Ricky Johnson, Steven Love, Declan Love, Kalen Love and Hayden Love.For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Marguerite the family has suggested Carleton Manor or a charity of the donor's choice.
